painkillers

Hi everyone hope you are all having a good day today .

I have had fibromyalgia for many years and have been on so very many painkillers, and as we all know they all come with their own side effects . So has anyone tried alternatives and if so which and how did you get on ? It’s just after having these drugs for so long I don’t know they help that much anymore so I’m looking to choose something else but don’t know where to start . Thanks in anticipation

My body cannot tolerate prescription drugs so I have had to find alternatives. I rely on my chiropractor, hypnotherapist, tens machine, hot water bottles, wheat bags, biofreeze gel and a good soak with epsom salts. Gentle stretching and a stroll in the garden often help the muscles. I use a weighted blanket too as that helps me settle in the evening after work.

I'm afraid it's a case of trial and error to see what works for you, as it seems that what works for one will not necessarily work for another. Hope you find something to give you some relief.

Like you I have also tried chiropractors, tens machines, hot wheat packs bio freeze packs and weighted blankets as well as painkillers . I think since I have had a 10 anniversary of being bad I just wondered if they was something else I could try . So thank you so much for your reply . I think sometimes you just get so desperate and hope there is a light at the end of a very long tunnel . Please take care of yourself

I'm similar to Dinkie no meds for fibro, I can tolerate them but they don't do anything. I use exercise and hot water bottles.
