pip report

we’ll guys I have had my pip report back today which I am not happy about atall. Everything has been ruled out because I worked full time 3 months ago. Apparently I don’t have brain fog because I could do the phone assessment fine and I remembered my medical history. I was also able to fill pip form out myself back in the beginnning of April so that has also gone against me. I don’t have anxiety even though I am take medication for anxiety. I have no specialist input with my mental health so I haven’t got mental health. I have no referals to the pain team nd my meds show moderate analgesia only. This decision will remain the same and this will be reviewed in 2 years time. What is the point of an assessment when the assessor has not listened to a word I have said. It says I would of been able to do all activities when I was working full time even though I explained I had to come off day shifts and work nights where nothing was happening and it was very quiet and I no longer work. Just keeps repeating the fact I worked full time so I must have been able to do everything.

I have just had exactly the same, I can prepare a meal because , I can drive, I told them I drive an automatic when I absolutely gave to fit short distances, not the same as trying to pick up a heavy pan or the pressure of prepping veg on your fingers, I don’t suffer with anxiety because I can take my son to an appointment. They are terrible, I am considering going a mandatory review with fightback4justice

Sorry to hear this, I agree they are terrible. It is degrading. As if it isn’t enough putting people through the assessment in the beginning. This assessor has just made her own assumptions and lied about how far I can walk. I hadn’t even heard of pain clinic until the assessor said , I am waiting to attend physio but clearly this is not enough. And I haven’t got mental health because there is no specialist input . I haven’t got brain fog because I was fine on the phone and I remembered my medical history. She may as well as just called me a liar. Well I will be asking for a mandatory consideration. Sorry about the rant. I can’t understand how they come to these decisions and tell us how we are feeling. Good luck with everything

I had the same, evidence discounted because of No Specialist input from pain clinic, mental health, asthma, no anxiety as I can interact with my GP alone!! My report was badly written with sections just copied and pasted under each descriptor and in contradiction to professional evidence. I have picked the report to bits and requested a mandatory reconsideration. If that doesn’t get me anywhere I will speak to fight back for Justice, and you should to. When you have an assessment with a medical professional the very least you should expect is a well written report. I would be embarrassed to send that report if I had written it! The report on my award notice was just as bad!! Anyway rant over please ask for MR & good luck 🤞

Hi how do I request a mandatory reconsideration ? Do I need to call pip for this? I am sorry to hear this r-od it is so degrading, I can’t believe that they have refered to me working full time and the fact that I could give medication out and support clients outside which I did explain this was 3 years ago before I was even diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I wondered why she was asking what did my job role consist of when I worked days. They don’t listen to a word you say and assume things. I will be appealing against this

Yes ring them and tell them you want to do I mandatory reconsideration, I recommend you get professional help with this either CAB, Fight Back or a welfare officer at your local authority, x

Hi I’m not sure because on every page every discriptor is ruled out and it says not applicable

Yes the assessment report is awful

No it says on the very last page, based on the claimants likely future circumstances ,it would be appropriate to review the claim in 2 years. I will let you know . They have also based it on my medication because it is showing no anxiolytics.

When you submitted your PIP application how much sorptive evidence did you show?? Giving examples of what dose or has happened each time you try attempting to preform the descriptors being written about. What help you have needed do need reasons why you are unable to preform the tacks described for each descriptor.

Yes they are aware of all this they had evidence the report states it will be reviewed in 2 years time ?

it says more about me working full time 4 months ago. I came off day shifts because my body could not cope because of the pain , fatigue , brain fog and other symptoms. I then went to nights as nights I did not have to do much as of a night people are sleeping even that was too much for me being awake all night 40 hrs straight my body couldn’t cope. I no longer work now but the way assessors see it is I was working 4 months ago. And if I could work then there is nothing wrong with me. It’s all wrong

Can I just say mine says to be reviewed in two years and I was still awarded pip so I’d wait until you receive your decision letter.

It sounds or reads like a two year award, by reading the report one should be able to work out what the award may should be. Maybe they word things differently now to add more confusion. Harvesting progressing well will be finished end of August if not before.

This is just the assessor's recommendation, as I'm sure you know, that in their opinion it would be appropriate to review the claimant again in 2 years; no decision has been received.

The assessor's report is just & recommendation, & one of the reasons I feel it's often better to wait for your actual decision letter. Unfortunately one of the worst aspects of these assessor's reports is that they use many 'cut & paste' parts which we often feel are therefore not individual to the difficulties we face (as well as often upsetting due to this).

Believe you me, in my report it said I didn't see a physiotherapy specialist so could walk further than I stated without being in pain......I am a physio, which I mentioned in my claim form 3 times & at my assessment!

From a forum for Welfare Rights Officers, etc, that help people with tribunals.....the “no specialist input” line has been refuted comprehensively in case law and is easy enough to challlenge. See rightsnet.org.uk/forums/vie... and rightsnet.org.uk/forums/vie... which includes some other nonsense that crops up in assessor's reports.

People claim PIP & work &/or drive. Please let us know how you get on when you get your decision letter.

I had exactly the same, reading the other replies, it sounds like we all had the same assessor! Mine said I drive, total lie, I don't even have a license. No mention of relying on family to prepare and cook my meals. Mental health is constantly mentioned, I have depressed mood but as there is no mental health input, zero points. I have submitted a mandatory reconsideration with a letter from my GP. I received a text message yesterday that I will hear from them before 4th October.I had to resign from my job as couldn't cope anymore, ongoing flare from November 2022. Applied for and got refused the new style ESA as hadn't paid enough NI contributions, based on 2020 and 2021. I was working part time and not earning enough. Went back to full-time work in Oct 2021, left June 2023. Not entitled to Universal Credit due to husband's income so now I have to depend on my husband for financial help. Lost all independence now and really struggling to come to terms with it all. I saw this in an article recently, " Too functional to be disabled but too disabled to function" how apt 😞

I'm sorry it didnt go well with your assesment. I had a very similar issue with the assessor. I had a video call last November. They said i was casually dressed when all i was wearing was a dressing gown as i struggle to get dressed most days. As i had managed the call myself i could obviously do all the other things i said on my form i couldnt. As i was on a low dose for my depression an anxiety it wasnt that bad .because i could remember my medical issues i didnt have brain fog even though i was reading notes my daughter had written for me. Loads of things i didnt agree with. I just managed to get standard daily living so didnt want to appeal and possably loose that and then keep appealing But as they gave you nothing i would ask someone else to write to them explaing where you should have scored points telling them why you can't manage it most of the time.(5 days out of 7) with as much paperwork you may have to back it up with that you can

Good luck
