Yesterday a close family member was due to have a PIP tribunal
after a long protracted 2 year PIP process which left them with zero points and no award.
The panel of 3 people included a judge, a doctor and a disability expert, and it was online. However once formal introductions were completed, the judge then announced very sorry but unfortunately the DWP had not supplied them with 2 vital dates they needed to be able to proceed and therefore had to adjourn.
They would do the work their end to get the information and be in touch with new tribunal date.
Gobsmacked is probably a good word to express how we felt afterwards, coupled with lots of expletives!
Back to square one, playing the waiting game and still no award.
I have read here others have had similar experiences, therefore any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes my sister had hers taken off her by someone who wasn’t a medical doctor which was wrong, she’s had 52 operations, has COPD and emphysema and secondary osteoporosis amongst other things and twice has been turned down after appeal so went to the citizens advice bureau and got the relevant information, they weren’t even in possession of her medical records when they made the decision so she’s got help to fill the form out through crossroads care, other organisations can do it too. My friends partner was in the army had a stroke so had to leave, been on PIP then had a mini stroke and again, was looked at by someone with no medical experience and it was taken off him plus his car and blue badge, his bank closed his account without telling him too, he went to the citizens advice bureau and they fought for him and now he’s just got everything back, just so unfair when they pick on the people who really need it and give it to the people who milk the system, hope you get sorted x
Thank you so much for your reply, and sorry for the injustice caused by I agree an unfair system.
Some people will always deliberately try to work the system, however the DWP and ultimately the government are responsible for allowing people who do genuinely need help to go through what is basically hell, to get the support they need.
Fingers crossed those you mentioned get the support they deserve.
I can only say keep going, it took me many years to get it, and it was only when I went my wheelchair that I got anywhere been telling them for years I couldn't walk, but they would make me walk and I'd suffer after. Don't try to do things, they will push you. Hopefully you'll will get a new date soon, take care 🙂
