Problem.this is because medical science isn’t yet quite up with the many problems of the body.
Our Doctor advises that my wife no longer has Fibromyalgia.
I’m not sure about that.one of the associated conditions is known as Allodynia.-of which little is known.it is extreme sensitivity to touching the skin.on parts of my wife,s arm-I can hardly touch it due to the pain.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this problem.are there any gels, apart from Vitarol which may help.

Hi Vivtom, allyodonia can be very painful and a stand alone illness.
Tactile allodynia is one of the characteristic symptoms of fibromyalgia. But It is a neurological condition in which the sensation of pain—sometimes severe—can occur with a simple touch. With this condition, the body perceives pain to otherwise harmless physical (tactile) stimuli.
My own thoughts on this is if its the only symptom your wife suffers with then the GP may correct.
Allodynia is one of the reasons I can not take a shower. And the pain is different from my fibro pain.
But it is possible to have both fibro and allodynia. I have both.
Hi Vivtom, has your wife ever been checked for neuropathy? Forgive me if this is already the case. Inside upper arm and towards the outside is extremely sensitive for me, there are countless nerves in this area.
Thanks to all who responded.cheerieCat describes exactly where my wife, pain is ie inner upper arm particularly.in view of comments we will take up, in due course, the views and info.which has been expressed.thank you.
