unable to wear bras with bands

Does anyone know of bras which do not have tight bands but still give bust an uplift. I have large bust which needs firm support to give an uplift. Unfortunately all these bras have tight bands which give me excruating pain in my rib cage. I am currently having to wear pull on type bras which give my breast a saggy look in clothes. I have pads in bra which give a little bit of an uplift. Any suggestions?

I wear Simone Perele Delice or Caresse full cup bras. They have some stretch in the band and cups so I find them more comfortable. They go up to a H cup.

Sometimes my ribs get very sore and then I wear a M&S non wired flexifit full cup bra. I go up one size in the band so it’s not pressing on my ribs but it still gives good support. They go up to a h cup.

It might be a good idea to get yourself measured just to check that your measurements haven’t changed and that’s not contributing to the pain you are experiencing when you wear a bra.

M&S sell wireless bras, which I find more comfortable than wired.

Definitely wireless type for me unless I have a special event. Thicker straps also provide better support while being more comfortable on shoulders and back.

hi there, have a look at Big Bloomers, their pull on bras have extra support for larger cup sizes. I’ve just discovered them and find them really comfortable and supportive.

oh thank goodness you posted this 🙏I have exactly the same issue except mine is pain from the band sitting on the area around my back due to damaged nerve endings 😫it’s agonising so I haven’t been able to wear a bra for the past five years as it’s unbearable. I’ve been relying on wearing vest tops under my tops as I work and even though it helps I find it extremely embarrassing. All the girls at work have helped me to try and find something supportive but I’ve spent a fair amount on pull on bras all to no avail as like you say they don’t give any support. I have been getting myself in a state of anxiety which I suffer from always anyway as my daughter is getting married in May and I am besides myself about how I am going to look on the wedding day without support of a bra or having to wear my old one I’ve kept and it spoiling the day as I would be in excruciating pain the whole time. So thank you for posting and thank to all of you who have replied as I shall try and order a bra from the places you have suggested. 🤞🙏🥰

Me too... til I found Glamorise which has an extra bit of crossover strapping inside the cup to provide the uplift they only come in 3 colours tho and not black or white which is strange, but I have 5 now... 2 with the next size up band for those days when I'm more tender. Gives me a decent cleavage again as well! :) Get mine from Amazon and they go up to a 50G! (I'm 44G so getting bras in local shops to try on first is darn near impossible)

As a breast cancer survivor I would suggest Amoena or Nicola Jane for their mastectomy T-shirts. They have pre- formed cups (for prosthesis or in yr case yr breasts...) They are soft T-shirt material with built up straps that are part of the garment... Some basic colours but they are comfortable with uplift and can easily be worn under a top that's open... so giving a vest-like appearance.Their catalogues are best unless you live nr one of their shops???

Good luck, Wx

Hello Auton, please try Conturve website - a really good price for a very, very comfortable bra. I separately brought from Amazon the longest bra extenders I could get; for extra comfort due to rib pain. As well as comfort the girls look pretty good and supported when I'm dressed!! Best bra I've ever worn:) Take care.

hi , you can use extenders or use adjustable one so you get a wide cross over your back , it’s good for backless tips as well . There was something on YouTube about making your own backless bra where you just hook over your arms . You need to look at it to see what I mean . Hope this helps. , much cheape altering one you have by adding an extra king strap
