I am new here. I currently have Fibro symptoms but I haven’t been diagnosed yet. Please I’ll like to know if anyone has been Fibro free and what did they do or change to get there?

Thanks

Sorry to say there is no cure for fibro and if someone says there is then at best they are on a remission, or just mistaken. At worst they will be suggesting you spend some money on XXX.

However you will find tips on how to pace and help yourself and maybe some meds that can alleviate symptoms somewhat.

Thanks desquinn . I haven’t been placed on any medication yet. The symptoms just seem to progress over the years to various parts of my body. Still going through bloods etc to rule out other conditions. But my GP mentioned it could be something along the line of mild FMA. I was hoping there might be some medication or lifestyle changes that has helped improved symptoms.

Helllo and welcome, I hope you can go forward with getting a diagnosis, have you started yet with your doctor? They generally look how long symptoms have been going on for , some general bood tests too eliminate anything else. A good forum if and when you get diagnosed, helpful information, posts with useful tips and a lot of people who are part of a very big unwanted fibro club , but good too chat sometimes .

People can can do things to improve their symptoms. Understanding what a healthy body needs will help. It can take time, patience, a lot of research etc. Learning how the body and mind work. Think about

Sleep. If your sleep is poor broken etc, you don't do nightly repairs and so you will experience pain from not doing this essential work. Check if you need to address this. Not by sleeping meds obviously. Those aren't helpful for Fibro.

Digestion. Loads of Fibros have issues here. Fixing gut bacteria, eating what suits your system, and eating healthy will help. Meds are no substitute for fixing the root cause.

Body. Our bodies do need exercise to be well. The more sedentary, the less the body is able to flush debris and toxins from our cells. Also, learn to gently stretch out muscles to ensure muscles don't get tight and painful. Brad and Bob from Youtube are my go to team. Hurrah for good free info!

Stress. Relaxation, time to play and have fun, spending quality time with friends and loved ones, meditation are all pretty important to stay mentally and emotionally healthy.

Not everyone experiencing Fibro symptoms are Fibro's. and not all pain fibro's experience is fibro. So consider if there are physical reasons for your pain. An injury can cause muscles to over compensate and become tight over burdened etc, and sometimes a good body worker is the person you need to sort you out. If the pain affects your sleep, you will see other systems of the body affected.

While there is no cure for Fibro, that's not to say it can't sometimes be improved in time. It's up to you to be savvy. The body doesn't come with it's own manual but we all can learn as much as we can so we can live as good as possible. The main thing is side stepping the 'Miracle Cures' which will rinse your bank account and leave you frustrated and potless.

Al10 thank you so much for your reply. I haven’t been diagnosed yet but symptoms have spread over the years to various parts of my body. I will get started with exercising and see what helps my body in terms of digestion. Been having severe diarrhoea and cal protein was high. God tested for IBS but came back negative. Got pains around both ankles, thumbs, knees and any where joints meet. No swelling or physical changes but I can feel the pain and the blow so hot/burning from the inside.

I’m hoping someone from this forum can guide in what they had to let go/onboard that has helped improve their symptoms a lot.
