Mini Oven Recommendations

I love to cook. It has always been my favourite hobby and relaxation. However, I struggle with chopping and slicing these days ..... Food processor has helped no end on this front. But my biggest problem is getting things out of the wall oven and while HM is fantastic at lifting heavy things for me, he isn't always there. Finally, fed up with burning myself, spilling and dropping things, generally struggling ...... Thinking about purchasing a Sage Mini Oven. I am wondering if anyone has bought a mini oven and how much easier it has made your life? Also, can anyone recommend a good tool for slicing garlic?

Hi, the ninja 10 in 1 multifunction looks really good, slightly cheaper than the sage. We have their air fryer and honestly can't remember when I last used my main oven. Found these for Garlic

I bought this one about a year ago. It's brilliant! I see it is out of stock at present but I expect there is a newer version. Made my life so much easier.

We have a ninja 9 in 1 in the house and a new 14 in one in the Office. There is also a thriving community that suggests things to get better use out of them as well.

I love cooking too. Haven’t got an answer to the oven issue, but I bought a mini Bosch gadget, that can be a stick blender or attach to a mini processor to chop. Because the bowl is small you can chop small amounts easily, so I use it most days for onions and garlic. As well as chopping veg for soup, making curry pastes, dips etc. It’s a lot lighter and easier than my full sized food processor, the only thing that would make it perfect is if it could grate too.

I buy big jars of TRS minced garlic from Asda. They cost £1.25 . Asda also do excellent frozen chopped onions. I haven't been able to cut food for years, so find tasty ways to adapt, such as having friends round for "finger food", and having soup or mussels when I eat out, so no one notices.Isn't it amazing how we, with FM, find so many clever ways to get around the condition!?!

As for cooking; I bought a second hand Aga off Gumtree, mainly for background heating as my body experiences cold as pain. (The house had oil heating anyway, so I was used to the expense.) I don't use anything else to cook now - except for a camping gas stove when needed. I'd recommend everyone gets an alternative form of cooking in case of power cuts.

I hope this Winter is kind to us all!

When I moved house I thought I'd be clever and make sure I had a secondary means of cooking. After I had moved I found I had the 2 burner Camping Gaz cooker, but no cylinder for it and lots of the little single burner gas bottles, but no single burner! Ah well!

Hope we don't get a power cut!

Cheers, Midori
