dizziness and labyrinthitis or a form of vertigo?

hi I know I have posted about dizziness, but I don't know why I keep getting this. I am talking to the doctor next week, it just gets me down a lot about fibromyalgia and everything else that happens with fibromyalgia or not. I am asking the doctor about helping me with fibromyalgia and anxiety, but I don't know what they can do to help me. I am sorry about rambling on but it is hard sometimes to say how I feel. I feel like I am moving when I am not sometimes, I feel like I have some form of vertigo or something or maybe labrythitus I am not sure. I will let the doctor know about it. thanks for any tips or advice in advance. x 😁😉😢🤗

I had similar symptoms a few years ago. Very upsetting. For me it was labrythitus. It did pass and I am ok now. When I am poorly now I make sure I am not laid flat all day.I hope your GP can help.

Sorry your symptoms are still on going. I would differently tell him everything, it would be helpful too get on top of your anxiety, having had this I can relate too how you must feel, keep at it and be honest with the doc, xx

I have been getting ‘labyrinthitis’ on and off for nearly 20 years now. A new doctor 5 years ago recognised it as a symptom of my fibromyalgia (along with all the others - I’m practically a tick list 😆). I still get it but now know it’s fibro and live through it. I have tablets I can ring the doctor for which help take the edge off.

Hi Fibrogirl41, Just something to consider; Have you considered your symptoms are due to possible Magnesium deficiency? If you read up about this, stuff like dizziness, vertigo, ringing in ears etc come up, and more. It's a common deficiency and easy to supplement. Deficiency is even more common if you have tummy/absorption issues. Taking a standard 300-400mg (check this first obviously!!) supplement with a drink of water near bedtime can help you sleep better. But don't take my advice, read all about it first. There are a myriad of different formulas and each will have it's uses and merits.

Think about muscle twitches cramping, tightness, Anxiety, heart palpitations/abnormal rhythm, numbness, and more; All symptoms of deficiency. If you have constipation, some types of Magnesium can fix this too, else choose the ones that don't make you poop!

Drs seldom think about deficiencies before reaching for the prescription pad. They figure we all know how to eat properly maybe?

I think girls particularly are prone to deficiencies because of both the obvious menstruation and also society pressure to conform to being feminine, pretty and slim. We like to eat less to fit our clothes and fashion and other people's expectation of us. If we do diet, or just have tummy issues, we should think about our nutrition needs being met either through our food or careful supplementation. Without the right input, our bodies will struggle to function adequately.

Back to your meds, the nausea/vomiting should settle quickly. Remember if you hurl it up, what you hurled needs replacing! This is your nutrition; Important. Unless you eat rubbish then... Maybe you should think about eating better? Sometimes fibros are loads better just cleaning up a junk diet (and getting fresh air and exercise). Just a thought.

In my experience, meds are seldom the answer. Sometimes they can be a quick fix while you work on the problem. Fixing a suitable diet for your needs, keeping fit daily, exercising within your capabilities, learning to relax, maybe meditate? and dealing with your emotional baggage ect will give longer term benefits.

I had 'labyrinthitis' or whatever it is, for ages. Then it would come and go until it disappeared. I just had to get used to that hung over drunk nausiated feeling. Nothing was offered. No treatment or cure. All the while I was poorly, I had serious tummy issues was losing weight etc. Never did the GP take my concerns over losing weight seriously. Anxious again? Really?? Surely I was lucky having a slim figure like mine?🤢 So inappropriate and creepy!😨 I had to figure my issues out for myself. Hopefully you will too.
