Pip calling today

Have my pip phone call today. They had arranged for it to be face to face a 45 minute drive from where I live at 9am....had to phone them and say I'm not comfortable driving that far and 9am is too early as I have kids to get to school. So they arranged a phone appointment for today. What should I expect from this phone call? I really have no idea. Its at 11am. Xx

Sorry for the late reply @Noob35 - how do you think your PIP phone assessment went today?

At least it's over; you've done the worst part, so hope you can now relax.

Hello Noob35 . I hope your pip assessment went well . I had my assessment on Monday . Omg 2 hours I was on the phone for . I was exhausted 🥱 the time I got of the phone . Drained the life out of me . 😬

Hello, just be prepared they will use the fact you can drive and also drop your children off at school against you today, so be ready to explain your difficulties if any with that, how your disability affects your day to day activities is what the PIP assessment is about, not just about your disabilities. Good luck.

All the best. And only say what you are like on your bad days. Don't mention the good ones ?if you have any!)

You have already told them you can drive/ manage to follow a route and drop off kids at school. All of this will go against you. Think carefully about how your health prevents you from doing things. I got a taxi to my face to face assessment . Told them I have a car but need to sell it as cant manage to drive it and need to get an automatic and cant cope with busy traffic. I lost points as they said I had good core strength because I drove. Absolute rubbish ! Many days I dont have strength to get out of bed. Sorry to go on but they manipulate your answers to reduce points. I have had 2 face to face and 2 telephone assessments over the years and was refused pip every time.

I aware it will probably be refused first time round. First question is can u look after ur kids. I said mine are 8 and 16 so quite capable luckily for me. I do drive my daughter to school but I told them it's the only time I drive and thats true. I'm sure it will be refused but I will just follow the appeal process. I don't get whats so hard to understand about fibro making it hard to work for some sufferers. Xx

The questions aren't related to fibro at all really are they!

I hope it went well, just seen your post. I thought mine had gone badly, but I've still got PIP. You did the best you could, we deserve it! Especially when you are taking of children too.

in reply toBlueTofu

I think having to take care of children seems to work against you which is completely unfair!
