I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia,CFS, hyper mobility, anxiety, depression and mild chronic kidney impairment in 2018. I have been claiming PIP lowest daily rate for about a year now.
I quit my job in November due to peri menopausal symptoms and my fibro being worse than ever. So I am also claiming ESA.
Today however I have received an invitation for a telephone assessment in relation to my benefit claim.
Is this a normal procedure?
Many Thanks

Hi and a warm welcome to the forums. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our website fmauk.org and our patient information booklets at fmauk.org/publications
As momo says, an assessment is a normal part of the esa process (it will be similar to what you had with pip)
I’m already receiving ESA so I think it’s a PIP check up
I have gotten worse since first applying but I cannot be bothered to put another claim in, plus they don’t seem to understand the fluctuation of pain and fatigue and think of you can walk the dog for an hour then you’re fine. I’m hardly hiking with my pug!
