ESA Assessment

Hiya all. I've been claiming contribution based ESA since March 15 after I had my contract terminated at work, I've got my medical assessment next week. Any advice please, I tend to overcompensate for my condition and start banging on about what I can do - ((think this stems form my childhood) x

Just tell it how it is. We all tend to play down our illnesses, but you have to paint a picture for them of your worse days. If you can't do something they ask you to do because of pain, like bending or stretching, say no as it causes severe pain etc. Good luck x

Ok I have been approved for disability pay and medical insurance coverage for the rest of my life. My son also gets a check for 800 a month until he is 18 years old or until he is finished with school and hopefully it will continue on through college anyway I have a list that the judge was looking at are looking for that would show medically the things that kept me from being able to even do a part time job. I believe since your in another country it's a little different but pretty much the same principle so the issues are the same. I was denied 2 times before I was approved. Unfortunately the system that I applied for this in disability automatically threw me out as a does not qualify person because my education was too high. Meanwhile I was advised by a lawyer to go ahead and continue seeing the doctor a behavioral therapist and a pain specialist so if you have any documentation get it all together. If you want me to tell you more about how I finished on the last trial let me know because I feel like I am babbling but I have a list of things that I know I could give you which shows you would not be proactive in a work environment and actually you may be more of a hazard. Please let me know if you want me to give you the information and I will grab it and either call you or I can just read it on here and it will be listed for everyone to see I think it's fine that I do this if anyone thinks that I should not please let me know it's not like it's a big secret.Amy

Just remember you may be observed even as you approval the building. You will probably be asked how you travelled to the centre and if anybody accompanied you. Don't underplay your problems tell it as though it is your worst day.

Good luck with it let us know how you get on.x

That is true. My lawyer said they watch you as you come in. Just be yourself and honest and that really is the best policy. If you have a diary that may be good to refer to.

I have not been through anything of this nature myself but I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your assessment.
