Any tips?

Hi, I'm new here.

After any tips on soothing pain. I'm struggling with my ribs again today and I know all fybro sufferers can experience the pain differently and in different areas, so if anyone struggles with their ribs any tips on how to ease them would be much appreciated😊 currently relying heavily on deep heat. My Dr is very reluctant to prescribe pain meds.

Thank you xx

Thank you 😊

Hi there

Out of interest, is your GP looking at what may be causing your pain? Or have they referred you to a pain management clinic and/or a physiotherapist? It seems a bit unfair to you to just leave you to deal with it.

I don’t get pain in my ribs, but for the pains that I do struggle with, I use some complementary treatments alongside medication.

- Epsom salt baths

- breathing exercises

- gentle stretches - these have been recommended by a physio

- magnetic jewellery - I was skeptical at first, but they have really helped ease my pains. I use magnetic “hearts” for pains in my back and shoulders - they clip to your clothes and may be useful for your ribs… I just search magnetic jewellery on Amazon and lots comes up

I hope you are doing ok.

Sending gentle hugs 💙

My requests to be referred to the pain clinic get declined, GP that diagnosed the Fybromyalgia says she will just continue managing it, I've kind of just been left with a fee websites told to eat healthily and exercise and pace myself and that's about it. Xx

WHAT?!?! I recently had some awful behaviour from the GP surgery I’d been with for over 35 years, so I moved and have now got an amazing GP. You do not need to just accept what they say - are there any other GPs within your surgery that you can speak to? It really isn’t fair or right to just leave you to it.

Ironically she was the first Dr to actually take me seriously and diagnose the fybro. I will ask for some more help again when I'm feeling a bit braver takes its toll getting knocked back so often. Xx

I can relate to it taking a toll. I hope you get the help you need and deserve, poppet. 💙

Really warm water pounding on where it hurts.

Enjoy some guacamole for me, would you? I love the stuff, and I can't bring avocados home anymore. They are deadly toxins for parrots, and it only takes a moment of inattention. I have lots of those moments. 🦜

Hello there I am currently using bio freeze for pain, actually the boots own make seems a lot more reasonable priced, differently agree warm Epsom salts baths on a daily basis, I use my hot water bottles as well. I actually found sitting out in the warmth the other day my body relaxed a lot more, today the rain again 😔 but comfy chair outside for 10 or 15 mins or so can work wonders for my pain.

I normally use cold for my head but usually heat on the body I'll have to switch it up an see if it helps. Thank you for the suggestion. Xx
