Reducing medication to help fatigue?

Hi, I’ve seen the nurse practitioner today about my fatigue which just seems to be getting worse n worse. I currently take 90mg duloxetine and she suggested I come off it (very gradually) or reduce the dose as with it being an antidepressant it could be contributing to or causing the fatigue. Has anyone else found it causes fatigue? Or been advised to reduce to help stop it? Thanks 😊

I take 60mg and was always extremely tired. I recently started taking vitamin B12 in a spray format and it’s helped a lot with fatigue, sleep and severe migraines.

Just for your information - I had to come off Duloxatine due to migraine side effects. They have now stopped.

Just out of interest, do you take anything else instead?

I have been taking one tablet of 60mg for a long time and take mine at night, as she says you could try reducing it and see how you feel, it’s hard as with our fibro you can feel fatigued anyway but a trial reduction may be the answer for you, depends if you’ve been put on it for fibro pain or anxiety, mine was for anxiety which worked 100 per cent. xx

Hey Becca, I tried pregablin and that didn’t work for me, it’s the tiredness that gets me down. I’ve fallen asleep at work few times and I work at a Schl so not good!!! Doc has put me on gabapentin, I’ll see if it’s any better, it’s only been couple days so far. It’s always catch 22 isn’t it, you need meds to help with pain etc. Do you sleep ok at night? I don’t and I would love to be able to sleep all night. I’m sure between us all on here that someone will have a solution for fatigue. Here’s hoping anyway. Take care Becca and remember we are all with you. Jo

Actually after trying Duloxatine which has good write ups but unfortunately did not suit me -migraines, I have found Cipralex (another antidepressant) quite good. However my ‘Flare Ups’ continue during periods or stress or sadness (my 🐈‍⬛ black cats unexpected death aged 9) has caused a bad flare up. However I’m hopeful that my fibromyalgia will start to calm down after a period of time.
