Sore and achy body while taking mirtazapine
Hi Uzyrani , I have been prescribed mirtazapine and been on it a few months, I was tender and sensitive to the touch prior to taking it. What I have found is I'm getting muscle cramps a lot, which I need to discuss with my Dr. How long have you been on it and do you think you could be in a flare up ?
Hi, thank you so much for replying. I've only been on it for two weeks and I've been prescribed it to help me sleep. I've not been able to walk for 9 months and I can't sleep due to pain and tremors in my legs. I've never felt sore to the touch before though. I've realised couple of days after I started taking mirtazapine pain has increased tremendously throughout my body so I thought it may be a side effect of the medication.
Speak to your Dr and see if its a possibility that it might be the mirtazapine. If there is anything that I've learnt with having fibromyalgia it's this , don't under estimate it.. I'm sorry, haven't been much help but I hope you can get to the bottom of it. Let us know how you get on please. I hope you will have a pain-free day and weekend.
I have booked an appointment, my doctor will call me sometime today. I just registered at new gp practice last month but my previous gp told me fibromyalgia isn't a big deal and these were his words "the older generation had more patience with pain and people in your generation including you (referring to me) can't take pain and exaggerate it too much". I promise I'm not exaggerating my pain, I'm trying not to complain about it but it really is very painful and the pain is making me feel exhausted. Thank you, hope you also have a pleasant weekend
That is the sadist thing I've heard coming from a Dr. He/she has absolutely no idea what we all go through. I put that down to pure ignorance. I get so much support from my doctors and they are fully aware what fibro is. I really hope your new Dr gives you the support you need.
Haven't really been able to see new doctor yet, she called on Friday and told me to stop taking mirtazapine and she called ambulance for me because I was in so much pain. Paramedic said I'm already taking morphine for pain so there's no point going to hospital as they are very busy and all they're going to do is give me morphine at the hospital too so I didn't end up going hospital with them. The Paramedic did suggest to request my GP to refer me to neurologist so going to give GP a call tomorrow to get a face-face appointment.
