If the surgeon says to get it done then get it done Any physical fracture or issue will have fibro amplifying the pain. If you remove the fracture or issue then the pain will reduce.
Do you think it will help? I am just not sure if pain is from hip problem or is it fibromyalgia or bothI am scared of procedure as I don’t have a good track record I have AF and Asthma to add spice Had unsuccessful Ablation and knee fracture just after hip operation when I was a baby
I do not think anyone on here can advise you properly hence what I said if it is the Surgeons opinion then go with that as they will be looking at evidence like scans, And if they see an issue then it is likely you will have relief after the op.
Hi - I've seen this question elsewhere, and usually fibromites were recommending: Get it done. From my experience with docs vs. physios I'd get several good experienced, gentle physios to have a look at it and work on it, if you haven't already, to help you make the decision, also by getting a feeling for your own body; if possible also people who know fibro or allow themselves to be educated. That way you have a bigger base for your decision. That doesn't necessarily make it easier than just succumbing to what the docs say and then having someone to blame. My neurosurgeon, who doesn't know me well, would love to take the probably harmless tumour out of my spine, but all other docs, who do (GP, neurologist etc.) say: Don't, just keep it checked annually, because that will definitely increase my pain and doesn't seem to be causing pain or any problems itself. Your case seems to be the other way round, but I'd still get it safer, even though a hip replacement is said to be routine nowadays.
