Weighted blankets

Following some good advice on here I have been using my weighted blanket for the last week and a half with positive results. It has definitely helped with the pain and restless legs at night. My blanket is lovely and soft, it's fleecy. However, will it be too hot to use in the summer? Is there a different sort that would work? I have seen a polyester one that isn't fleecy but I'm not sure incase it's a waste of money. What do you use in the hotter weather? Please help. Thanks 😊

I use the same one all year round. I put duvet over in winter, and just use the weighted blanket in the summer

Thank you for that. I wasn't sure whether it would be too warm during the hot weather

Hi I've just bought another one as my first one was double and hubby didn't want it on him the new one is single and brilliant it's not fleecy it's more cotton and in summer you could just have that on you I got it from amazon and its made by brentfords x

Thanks for that. I've been looking at one on amazon that's from brentfords too. It sounds like it might be the same one. Thanks 😊

I love my weighted blanket, it does help with the pain and restless legs, however I have removed the cover on it but it makes me so hot that I end up a sweaty mess. I tend to use it for about 30 minutes and then take it off before I over heat.

I'm ok with mine at the moment because even though it's fleecy, the weather hasn't been warm. I can't stand hot weather that's why I'm considering getting one that's not fleecy. Hopefully it'll be worth the money. Thanks 😊

I can’t really answer your question as I haven’t used mine very often, due to me finding mine too heavy. I have trapped nerves in certain place s, and find it makes the worse. I’m also quite small and feel “trapped” underneath it in bed.

When I bought mine about 18 months ago I couldn't get on with it. Although it was the right weight, I felt trapped too. I haven't tried it again for over a year but I have got it out again and for nearly 2 weeks I've been using it every night. I'm not sure why, but I do seem to be doing better with it now. It does seem to help with the leg pain and helps settle my restless legs too. Maybe if you try again it might be better?

Maybe I should give it another try with it. Sometimes things just taking a bit of getting used to. I’m pleased you are finding it helpful.

It's definitely worth a go. Give it at least 3 or 4 days. I love mine now and I'm looking at getting another one that's bigger. Good luck 👍
