Thank goodness for my weighted blanket!!!

To any Fibro sufferer, PLEASE buy one!!

Mine arrived 2 days ago and I feel so different. When I'm at home and I feel an attack coming on then I lay under my weighted blanket with an electric blanket on top and the pain subsides. The blanket controls my pain quicker than anything else I have tried.

I'm laying under it now, only down side is it's not that easy to move around, it is so heavy and I can't lift anything heavy, even heavy shopping is triggers an attack!! My husband moves it from our lounge to our bedroom for me!!

I'm sleeping better too, especially when I have an attack during the evening before bed. My husband is also sleeping deeper too, bless him he is run ragged looking after me!!

So far so good 👍👍Xx

So glad it’s helping you, unfortunately. I Tried one but had to return it as I couldn’t stick the weight on my legs

in reply toArymretep

That's a shame, there are lighter blankets available. Try a kids blanket and I'm sure that would be lighter. Don't give up!! Xx

Yes Seaside_living I love my weighted blanket too! When you're having a bad, bad day you can curl up inside it and it really feels like it's giving you a huge soft hug 😍 🤗 Btw if you do buy one I'd recommend that you make sure you buy one that has a removable cover so washing is easier 😊🤗

Hi SlothMode

I'm so glad you are finding it useful too, spread the word!!!

Yes mine has a fleece cover which you can take off to wash. I don't think the blanket itself could be washed, too heavy and would probably break my washing machine 🤣🤣🤣

Happy to hear you found a solution for you!For those without help such as family or partners… I have multiple blankets because I can remove them from the bed, sofa whenever i need to and the combined weight applies pressure too.

I have done this with the help of an electric blanket (on my pjs), duvet cover and cotton throw x2 or even 3. Sometimes I will swap a cotton throw for another duvet. The layers also trap heat without the need to turn on the electric blanket but the option to turn it on helps for extreme times too 🙃

I just tagged you, so you could be aware because you didn’t create the original post so was not sure if you’d see everyone else’s response. 🙃

Hi Passionfruit6

That's a great idea to have multiple blankets. When my husband isn't here, like today, I can't move mine (think it's 9.5kg!!!) I'm sitting under it now and its laid on my bed. We have moved our bedroom downstairs as I can't manage stairs anymore.......so if I'm watching TV then I can just walk through to what used to be the dinning room and get on the bed with my blanket👍👍

My blanket was £75 so I will need to save my pennies for another one!! Money DEFINITELY well spent though

Have a good day xx

That’s soo awesome! I’m so glad for you. I LOVE my weighted blanket too. I’ve also got a great elliptical knee cushion from Amazon I use when I turn on my side and I could sleep for Scotland with both of them! I’m sure I’m sleeping deeper. Long may it last for you! Xxx 😁🤗

Just so "the word" is spread neutrally 😁Like Arymretep I have problems with it, so you're tougher than us: I just tried the one my wife wanted for Christmas and woke up with a thigh pang, a spasm and itchy burning skin due to the weight. It was a lighter one, 6kg. An unpleasant "heavy" hurting feeling on me is still all over, esp. both thighs. And I had no pain before, just wanted warmth and sleep.

And beforehand my trial with multiple blankets like PassionFruit6 suggested didn't work either, got me worked up, as I still have an urge to move, but can't do that easily, which is why I didn't want to buy one for myself. (My wife actually wanted it in the hope that it would help me after all.., but it actually seems it's OK for her, altho it's taking some getting used to.)

JayCeon Im glad it’s not just me lol, like you I felt I couldn’t move, maybe it’s because I’ve got restless legs as well as fybro?

Mary(?) - I'd guess so... heard that several times. My sleep lab didn't show RLS, I tried levodopa a year later cos the sleep psychiatrist wanted to make sure, but it got worse. I think I 'just' have RBS 🤪(B as in body).... (Mainly tailbone, so I'm only on my back for <4').

I love that RBS , me too, I’ve always been fidgety as my Mum used to say, I could never keep still lol. That’s why I’m so skinny maybe, so there is an upside 👍 (Myra)
