I do not understand why I suddenly got this awful joint pain 6 months ago after I broke my right hip, covid+, coma? Etc.

I just don't get why this suddenly appeared. I was OK before this disaster. I am in pain all the time.

Hi, the trauma you have been through will have been the trigger for fibromyalgia symptoms starting

Wow, you have been through the mill, as Hazel said all you've been through has probably been the trigger for your pain now, have you seen your Dr about the joint pain, maybe you need to see a rheumatologist for a proper diagnosis.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I've seen a rheumatologist. Had the DEXA scan done plus blood tests and xrays. She thinks my spine isn't straight or crooked, that I might have fibro and also osteoporosis as well. I'm still waiting for confirmation of this. It's taking quite a while to get confirmation. I'm just in a state of permanent pain and exhaustion and being hounded down by universal credit who want to assess me even though PIP have signed me off until December 2024. I'm single. So I have no-one to help. I have just started dating a man. Tonight is date 2. I am not ready for sex and I have told him. I have a terrible feeling that he will dump md soon. He's had 2 hip replacements so he knows what it's like as I'm still recovering from my fractured hip. If he dumps me I will be heart broken. I'm 59 and not too attractive. I feel this is my last chance to date. Feel so depressed it's untrue. Thanks for your reply. Jo

Hi , glad you’ve seen a rheumatologist , I was diagnosed with R Arthritis a while back and on meds for years then a new rheumu decided it as fibromyalgia , and osteoarthritis, not RA I also had a Dexa scan which is for osteoporosis which I also have, so I can understand your pain , have they given you anything for the pain.

Good luck with your second date , he should understand your pain if he’s had his hips done and understand what you are going through, honestly if he dumps you which I’m sure he won’t, he doesn’t deserve you, just be yourself , it’s the only way, put yourself first .

Once the docs have checked what kind of reason there is or not, I'd recommend getting good gentle physio for it... They can often "feel" and find and correct more than the docs can.
