Hi all I'm new here. Today I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and put on duloxetine 30mg not sure what I think about this as since Dec 2020 have been on prednisolone for polymalgia amongst other things. I have spent the last 14 months learning all I can about it now I need to learn everything I can about fibromyalgia. Any comments appreciated. Thanks

Hi Karen, I’ve been on Dulexatine since 2016 and have the last 2 weeks been coming off it. Must say I can’t see any difference yet of being either on it or off it. Hope you find it helps you x
Hi I’ve been diagnosed with fibromyalgia since November 2014 they’ve been upping my dose of pregabalin from 75mg now I’m on 300mg and even now there’s not much change to the pain A little like takes the edge off it but not much
They diagnosed me a good few years after my symptoms with millions of tests so it’s been pretty bad but overall pregabalin isn’t too bad
I’ve never had the medication you’re on
Pray you feel better soon x
Hi karen, I've been on duloxetine for fibromyalgia for few years now and on its own it didn't seem to do much of anything except ease my mood swings from the pain and fog and tiredness, being unable to sleep. I now take it alongside amitryptiline which seems to be a better combo as the amitryptiline appears to help me sleep better. Try it for couple of months at least as takes 3 weeks to get in your system properly and see how you go. Maybe keep a feelings and mood diary over that period and see if there are any changes at end of couple of months in how you feel, sleep, rest etc.. good luck hope this helps 🙂
Missed possible diagnosis of fibro. in March 2020, due to isolation, eventually wore off it, cold weather today, back with a vengeance, am on other medications for other conditions, going to 'put my foot down' this time and fight it this time due to possible reactions! Spent most of last year reaction to AZ vaccine, good luck!
Thanks all for yr comments, reading different articles I have found but it's not the same as people's real life experiences of fibro yhis is more realistic of what we all are going through
Hi Karen, after twenty years of Fibromyalgia on and off with Flare Ups in between I have found that antidepressants such a Duloxatine, Cipralex and Cipramol have given me more effective pain relief than pain killers ??? On top of that they help with stress anxiety etc. I hope you find the right ‘tablet’ for yourself - don’t give up you will get there. X
I’m on the negative response side of Duloxetine! I would advise you to say “NO” and RUN! I had taken it for 8 years, not realizing increasing problems I was experiencing were side effects. Wising up, I’ve now been tapering off of Duloxetine for 2+ years. This is the safest, with less difficulties way. My migraines are gone, as well as anxiety-producing ear noises, and several other debilitating or just annoying things! It was *poison* to me.
Hi Karen,Welcome. Yes a lived experience shared is helpful. I find making sure I look after myself very well and distration can help me.
I can con myself I have some control and love crafts, funny stuff on TV/dvd, music. Walk my dog when I can.Mindfulness.
Learn to say no to people.
It is a harsh condition. Seek out what works for you. The hardest thing is to be positive while in constant pain but mindset matters.
All the best on your journey.
Take care.
