Basically just finding out I have Fibro from GP. Took anti depressants and anti anxiety pills for years following head trauma and dismiss all aches and pains for lack of Vit D and general wear and tear as hate exercise. Heart palpitations are probs just work stress. Headaches are probs just coz central heating in too much right. Napping is just my age. Hot sweat and chills prob menopausal. Could the doctor be wrong ? Anyone else think their doctor is wrong ?

. . . Dr wrong ? Oh my goodness, . . . never in an ideal 🌎🌏🌍 ! In this one, prob more often than is typically recognised, . . . even by the likes of the G.M.C. & N.I.C.E. v probably ! But one cld reasonably ask, 'which Dr . . . & on which issues ?' though !

On the non-vitamin, 'vitamin D' for those suffering from a range of inflammation-causing & autoimmune type conditions, the UK medics wld be appear to be getting it FAR more often WRONG than not: 🔍 for 'Chronic illness recovery Meg' . . . & start exploring ! The ~7min vid on the homepage is ONE good start. Plenty of leads to follow from there . . .

. . . with the above, . . . you're off in the Right Direction ➡ to make better sense of your medical presentations probably, one cld say !!❗ ( - or, at least, rule out these possible explanations in yr specific case !).

AtB,

Sid :)

Hi Cookiemonster42

I guess so, however. The search to name and research what's wrong can take a lot of energy.I found balance in not letting it absorb me. It is unlikely my symptoms will go with any diagnosis ,it just adds a name to my list.

I have been on that search a long time. Had many treatments and medications. The approach I found the most useful for me was listening to my own body. Meeting my own needs phyically, emotionally and spirituality. It was only when I considered myself with compassion and stopped caring what others thought about my condition and if it was real! ( yes really)

I found a more peaceful path day to day.

Yes Doctors can be wrong, so far Ive had 3 different suggestions for exactly the same problem over a number of years. Some of the medicines on my journey hurt my body and didnt help but the pain was so dreadful I took what was offered at the time.

I find that foe me natural treatments help me and I have regular blood tests so I can take vitamins responsibly.

I have found this group helpful

It offers good information aboit fibromyalgia and peer support

I wish you well .Take care Cookiemonster.

Hi. I'd certainly agree that not all doctors can know everything, insufficient time and training don't help. The trick is to find someone you can talk to and learn with. But with head trauma, two things perhaps to think about. One, Datis Kharrazian in his huge tome on the brain (Why Isn't My Brain Working?) says that inflammation from damaged microglia can persist long after an original injury, leading to loss of neurons. He suggests dampening the inflammation and improving blood flow to the brain plus supporting blood sugar balance. Worth reading. And two, that the thyroid can suffer with head trauma so possibly central (secondary - pituitary, or tertiary - hypothalamus) hypothyroidism eg ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/labs/pmc/a... and ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/labs/pmc/a.... If either pituitary or hypothalamus are dysfunctional, other hormones and functions may also be affected of course. Best wishes
