Yes, but they will do everything they can to convince you otherwise, stay the course and insist you need a home assessment and they will eventually agree, unofficially I've heard they consider showing up as a point against you. If it's a nightmare to travel (I'm the same) you have to be prepared to outlast them trying to wear you down to accept

You can ask but if they have given you an appointment you can only change it once. The best thing to do is phone them and ask I'm not even sure if they are still doing telephone assessments...Good luck

Hello, what is your problems or concerns that make travelling a nightmare? If it the use of public transport you can have a taxi to and from the assessment center you have to pay upfront snd get a claim form from the assessment center ask the drivers for a receipt and once your claim has been submitted the money is back into your account within a few weeks. I had a taxi for all of my assessments £120 for each and I printed out my own receipts for the driver to fill in and sign . But if not suitable then request a home visit and stick to your request as the assessment company will try to dissuade you.

I didn't think they were doing face to face yet because of the covid. Mine was done via phone assessment so no traveling x

I had a home visit which was arranged by AgeUK. AgeUK was really helpful. It was all very painless. Call AgeUK and explain your situation.
