I'm waiting for gall bladder removal.

I keep getting bouts of sickness /nausea. Is there any medication I can take for this please.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling too good, I would suggest that you should speak to your pharmacist or GP about it and ask what they can recommend for you.

I agree with Welshcatlady phone your doctors surgery hopefully they can give you some anti sickness tablets until your removal, sickness/nausea can be very unpleasant especially if it upsets your daily eating and hopefully your operation date will come soon for you .

Agree with Welshcatlady, GP best bet. I'm in the same position, was due surgery just before we went into first lockdown so still waiting. I've been quite lucky so far though, just watch my diet, stay away from fried food, don't eat meat anyway & no dairy (although still manage chocolate) of course! I do have anti sick tabs as required.

Thank you, I'm on to it right now.

there are quite a few meds that can help and there is a ladder to progress along as well as some natural options like ginger etc. But, as others have said speak to your GP as they will be able to guide you on what you should take or do.

Best speak to your doctor. When I had gallstones there wasn’t anything I could take only painkillers. Avoid food, drinks, sweets and chocolate that causes you the discomfort.

Hi - I suffer with this too. I have a sickness band which gives waves of electricity to your wrist - weird feeling but does help. Quite expensive, but worth it. Look up ‘sickness band’ in google. I also take ‘bio complete 3’ which is a prebiotic from America which I also find relieves nausea symptoms- good luck, it’s horrible!

I take Phenagrin (sp?) for my nausea. After I woke up from the gallbladder surgery all nausea and sickness was 💯% gone! I could eat a regular diet again. That was back in 94 and I was good for 2yrs before gallstones developed in 96. They did a endoscopy to cut the gallstones out from the bio ducts which took about 6months to heal.
