Covid Vaccine

Hi. I was wondering if other Fibro sufferers have found that the pain is worse after having their jabs. I have never had such pain since having mine.

the answer is always going to be yes for some. If you asked the same question in 2018 after the flu vaccine it would also be yes. But for some it could be a day in June. Cause is hard to pin down why we got fibro or why we happen to feel worse. Human nature is such that we want to find answers and remember certain things better than others. Like the full moon brings out the "crazies" for the NHS and police but this is because a big full moon in the sky helps us remember the drunk that puked on someone's shoes rather than the wet Tuesday in in November that the same thing happened.

Just when anyone has more pain its best to go back to basics and see the GP and see if meds can be changes and is there anything else you can change.

I have fibromyalgia so I cannot tell you if I didn't, would my side effects to vaccination be "less". However, the side effects are common (in 2.8 billion people worldwide who have received COVID vaccine, for example) so we know side effects of jabs are not specific or causally linked to fibromyalgia. Side effects are indicators that vaccination is doing its intended job to help us. I wouldn't worry.

It's worth bearing in mind, as a fibro side effects of any drug can cause a flare. So potentially we can react to both the drug and the side effects.

We have all had times when a simple blood test has set us off surely? It's snagged a nerve and the pain just keeps giving here then there, then everywhere?

Everyone is different. Some folks are saying it was easy peasy another told me they were bed ridden for six weeks. I know someone whose hands swelled up hot red and all the skin peeled off. Someone else said they had the best night sleep ever.

The point of the jab is you and your loved ones get peace of mind. If you are going to fret yourself sick over it, best you do more research until you reach a positive state. If you are stressed it affects your immune system making it more likely you get sick from what ever is going round.

Keep fit, eat healthy, think healthy. Keep to a healthy weight. Obesity is apparently bad for covid outcomes. Having the jab is just one part of the picture.

That is genuine question and I am sorry to hear your pain has worsened.

However I'm not sure you'll get open discussion of that question on this site unfortunately.

Hi Dbry , with due respect, there is an abundance of questions & answers on the subject. If you use the search tool, at the right hand top of page, you can find lots of information on the subject.

Cheers.

I think as Greenpeace has said our search results show an abundance of conversations on this topic on this forum. Some are closed when they stray into antivax territory and not just hesitancy. Others are closed due to promoting unproven treatments based on flawed methodology or results. Others are closed due to being circular.

I am mindful that this is an area of concern the other fora on here and fibro fb groups elsewhere do not allow as it is challenging and goes down the routes above and disrupts the group. So moderating it is a balance. We will sometimes get that wrong but the discussion does continue to happen and support is given.

So respectfully I would disagree.

Not personally, no.

I did have a sore arm for a day or two though.

My 20 year old son who has autism had no reaction whatsoever.

My 47 year old partner, who is perfectly healthy, was in bed for 3 days with flu like symptoms.

We can all have reactions to medication.

One thing I am sure if is that now I am double jabbed my chances of drowning because my lungs are filling up with fluid, in agony, alone on a ventilator are dramatically reduced.

Hi Artlark I was in a flare up for 10 days after first vaccination.

When the second one came around I had no flare ups everyone reacts differently to them.

I hope you feel better soon.

Big hugs 🤗 Hel52

Hi, I’d a sore & tender area around the jab site for both initial jabs. I had the booster a couple of weeks ago, again sore arm & felt very run down & fatigue the next couple of days. But nothing major or anything that dragged on either. I am reassured by the piece of mind knowing I am giving myself the best chance of getting through it if I did catch Covid. x
