Vaccine

Morning everyone I had the Astra Zeneca yesterday. Last night I had severe aches and pains and hot sweats. Feels like a bad flare up. I know it’s much better to have the vaccine but have any of you reacted badly to the vaccine ? Hopefully it won’t last. I did read last night that some people with CFS and fibromyalgia have improved since having the jab. Xx

Morning, that sounds like a pretty standard vaccine reaction to be honest. The next few days you may experience flu like symptoms. Probably too early to tell on the flare up side, though some of us have had issues. My RA (I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibro) did go off the charts for a while. God, I’d love if my fibro was better after the vaccine...but doesn’t seem so!!

HI I agree with LoneEra sounds like the normal reaction for most of us. Now that really would be a miracle if it cured our fibro! Just out of curiosity may I asked where you read it?

there have been a handful of reports from people about symptom improvement but just like bad effects are not easy to be attributed to a vaccine then good effects are equally hard to attribute.

Must admit I was really very ill for several hours later and they kept me at the centre for over an hour. I then developed the worse headache I have ever had and started a very bad flare and was bed bound for three days. I had hoped I wouldn't react but have been forbidden the flu jab since the first one I had made me very ill. Having seen how ill my husband became with Covid I decided that it was worth the risk to have the vaccination. I have decided tonhwve the second one.

My husband was quite ill for two days after his first jab and was in bed for two days and was off colour for another couple. He had his second jab first thing yesterday morning and so far apart from a sore, heavy arm and feeling a bit off colour and tired he has been OK so hopefully the second jab won't be so bad. We also had the Astra, in my case the medics said it was the onky one I would be allowed.

Hope you are feeling better soon and the second one doesn't affect you as much.x

I had a bad flare up and was poorly for a week, I had my second vaccine last week and apart from sore arm had no side effects, I am relieved now I’m fully vaccinated. Don’t worry your immune system is working as it should. 😀

I found I had all the typical side effects but quite badly and from there has left me much worse with my fibro than before.. this flare just hasn’t eased yet.. and Im off work. Not going to lie, I’m scared to have the second jab but I know it needs to be done.. I hope you feel better soon x

Second just gave me sore arm( still tender 6 days later), but nothing compared to first with 3 days v.high temp, off food for 4, and sent blood sugar levels high ( as diabetic bit of a concern) for 7...pains like my normal fibro all over. So doubt you’ll have problem with jab2.

I had mine sat morning and had a very similar 48hrs of feeling poorly, but it’s settled back down again today. I wouldn’t worry too much and just give yourself a few days to recooperate.

Hi there, sometimes I think what people are classing has fibro flares are actually natural mild side effects to the vacine.

I would say if I was still feeling bad after 10 days or feeling so poorly more than the normal I would call the surgery before the 10 days. This is just what I would do if it was me.

Hello, My daughter had her first Moderna jab last week and did have a reaction. Fever, sweats, nausea, but only for two days. She’s feeling better now. She’s post concussive and has pain from nerve damage. She got through the reaction and is glad she’s had her first jab. I’ve had my first shot of Pfizer. I’ve had fibromyalgia for over 30 years so it would be great if I feel better because of the vaccine. Hang in there. Having a reaction means your body is building antibodies which is what’s supposed to happen! All the best.

Some 1 close to me has saidbthat 12hrs after the 2nd jab he felt so bad , the last time he felt that bad was in rehab.. he doesnt complain lightly.

some people do get a reaction and its normal and a sign that it is working. If it lasts more than a couple of days then they should go to the GP.

Morning, I had my first jab some time again a waiting for my second, but I’m a bit dubious at the moment, Like you suffered headaches it felt like I’ve been on the town drinking, felt sick and was in bed for two days. Just thought I would share my experience to let you know you are not on your own.

Yeah that's norm I have found most people will have a "bad" reaction either 1 but not both doses. So here's hoping next 1 you will be fine

I had mine on Tuesday and felt exactly the same about 6 hours later. I felt dreadful for about 48 hours but I’m happy to say that other than a really sore arm the symptoms seem to have passed today 😃 hope you feel better soon xx
