Hi everyone. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who's Fb/ME/CFS started after their Covid vaccination!?

No one is going to be able to say this conclusively. Not to be dismissive but it would be equivalent to say "did anyone get fibro after a full moon?"

It is our nature to notice memorable events at make categorisations or apply labels to things. These anecdotal associations are likely to be error prone.

On the other hand we have had anecdotal comments from people have symptomatic relief after receiving the vaccine. Equally I think the full moon premise applies.

Hi - I have read a few studies about fibromyalgia following Covid-19, but not the vaccination itself. This is the most recent one : journals.plos.org/plosone/a...

However this earlier study found rather than females being affected, obesity, or being male affected the risk of developing 'post Covid -19 FM' rmdopen.bmj.com/content/7/3...

In this study they 'propose with great caution a clinical case definition of fibromyalgia syndrome with hypermobility developing after a COVID-19 infection.' mdpi.com/1873-149X/29/1/3

Maybe it is just a coincidence ? But I agree with Des it would be very hard to say the vaccination caused Fibro IMO. Having covid though then fibro may give more food for thought as apposed to having the vaccination then getting fibro. Just my humble opinion xx

Hi Bethenny

Yes I definitely didn’t have fibromyalgia and CFS

Until after I had the COVID injections 🤔

I had a bad chest infection first and was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis then we went

Into the first Lockdown I had no aches and pains

Then after the following January started having

The covid injections and have deteriorated ever

Since. I often wonder if it was coincidence

I’ll never know 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for your reply Fern27. Very interesting to hear your story. I had no symptoms at all until I had my Covid vaccinations, the only other thing that coincided with the vaccinations was a couple of visits to a Chiropractor because I was feeling stiff with sitting around during lockdown, so are both just a coincidence to then suffering a terrible flare up where I could hardly stand ! I have done a lot of research on different causes for FB/ME/CFS. We are led to believe it's stress related but there is research to say it is caused by viruses. I am just very interested to know what others believe was the cause for their conditions. Thanks again for your reply. Best wishes 🙂

I understand you concern. So far, both my wife(FM sufferer) and I(am healthy.) got 4-5 shots as scheduled as seasonal covid vaccination plan, no severe adverse effects happened. Especially, for my wife only had been mild side effect, however I got more severe of those.

I already had fibromyalgia before 3 lots of covid, and 4/5( lost count) jabs…and nearly 3 years of Long Covid which has supercharged the fibro! Yale university ( see Kindred) is doing lots of research on Long Covid and vaccine sufferers, unfortunately not being in US you can’t enter their trials but you can join up…read up evidence, get support, weekly news letters/cafes, and give them health details that might be useful for huge statistical studies. Research suggests it is not those who had severe covid, or were hospitalised, that have bad Long Covid but those who had milder covid. Personally I am not sure how people can say it was the jab that caused long term health problems, rather than covid itself. During covid I lived with my son and his wife who are professional athletes…they probably had covid in Jan 2020 after an international competition ( with lots of coughing), then knew they had it twice more over next two years just because of testing they had to do, but they had no symptoms. I believe a lot more healthy and young people got covid, before and during when jabs were being offered; not that I don’t believe that the jabs may have hurt some.

Not me, I've had it for years, but I have notices a worsening of symptoms since having the jabs. Long Covid sounds almost exactly like Fibro, at least to me.

Cheers, Midori

There has been a lot of research that says Long Covid is like CFS/ME. There was a journalist called Gez Medinger who started investigating it and has been posting interviews with speicialst on his YT channel if you are interested in learning more. This might be a good one to start with: youtube.com/watch?v=k1rpjIf...

I don't know but I have definitely heard of people coming down with fibro-like symptoms after covid and after the vaccine.. just like more young and healthy people having heart attacks after the vaccine.😕 "long-covid" definitely sounds like chronic fatigue/fibro. And we all know by now the vaccines aren't effective and weren't studied sufficiently before global administration. I'm so sorry fir what you going through and I pray you find relief💖
