Hi everyone xx

I've been getting really bad migraines just lately.

I know when ones coming, my neck aches more, I feel sick, go off my food, then my head feels like someones in there playing the drums, my eye sight goes blurry and weird. Then bless my fibro my muscles in my back and arms go. Top it off my arthritis has fun with my knees and wrists. So yes 3 days of shooting, chronic bed bound pain.

My question was anyone else getting bad migraines?? 🤣😉🥵

Morning, oh dear you are going threw it, migraine symptoms are nasty, I was given some anti sickness tablets to help combat this, you feel horrid and cannot wait for it to pass, I just slept mostly, if they keep coming back make your doctor aware , Get well soon xx

Dear painnySometimes if we don't laugh we cry and I have done alot of that. So I'm trying to get through these gorgeous days we are all having but wow its testing for sure ❤️. I think it's because I had two bearable days and I thought yes I've got this. Then boom my 3 elements hit me. I got dressed and everything 🤣. I was showing off but it's OK I'm back in pj's to stay xx. Ooh and today I've found my sense of humour. It might not be here long when the pain hits but today I'm rolling with it. All the best 🤗xx

I’m joking (joining…edited today apologies, it’s my fibro) you for both the laughter and tears, I have done similar things in the past…I dress up really smart for work, I reach the door to get out but then my legs 🦵 letting me down. Immediately go to my bedroom, exchange my attire for baggy T-shirt, call my manager to tell him I’m ill… he is not having it by telling me I’m not fit for work…glad it’s over as I can no longer hear words or disability discrimination 🤗🤗🌹😍

The pain clinic gave me injections into back of my head. No migraines for three months. Might be worth investigating. The injections were not originally prescribed for migraines but it was a very welcome side effect😁

Thanks dinkie, I thought they stopped the injections. I have some tablets they knock me out, make me sleep and in between I use my tens machine and migraine music helps me. I think it's a build up no sleep, weather, stressed the usual.😉 Xx

Yes, triggered by bright or flashing light. Just more oil for the fybro fry up, hope you feel better soon. I could probably end up in a neighbouring bed soon.

I’ve had especially terrible migraines the past week or so! I was wondering if it was that the pillows on holiday were dusty or something. We’ve just got home, I washed my hair, hopefully that might do it… but maybe there’s more than just dust going on.

I mean I get 'little' migraines every day anyway and I’ve kind of learned to push through those but these ones were absolutely something else. I feel bruised all over, that’s how I know they’re about to 'go nuclear'. Most of the time I just try and do whatever I need to do as cheerfully as possible but when they get really bad I have to go to bed and lie there in the dark and listen to things for company. One thing I’ve found helpful is the night shift blue light filter thing on my tablet. I have an iPad and it’s easy to turn on and off. So when I have a migraine that’s chewing me up I turn that on and sometimes it helps enough I can use it for a couple of minutes at a time. I also use the accessibility settings to make the maximum brightness really really low. I think phones have those things too, and I know computers do too now! (Lovely people on here told me it’s built into windows ten!)

The other thing I do is click my jaw. Which doesn’t help… but it feels like it should! And sleep. Oh and caffeine! Which is bonkers. But one glass of full fat coke or something like that can help. Just a little bit of caffeine, not like the whack you get from coffee! But I think that’s one of those 'it’s worth a try but it might not work for everyone' things.

My doctor recommended full fat coke for me to try, because it is good for settling the stomach, you have to sip it before the migraine flares but it helps a lot. I keep Tim's in the fridge just in case, white tiger balm can help if it's sinus based, and a lavender eyemask (you can make one with rice and a sock) can make all the difference. With a migraine they shut down digestion which is why pills can often not work. I have meds which lessen the frequency but I get plenty of them

Your mileage may vary but these things might be worth trying for some relief

Pillows! It might be the different thickness. Some people take their own pillows with them when they go away.

Yep, sorry to hear that. Migraines just compound the fibro pains. It hurts me to put pressure on the back of my head when having them, but because of fibro I can't lay down in another position - side, front are generally a no go for me.

Not being able to lay down comfortably during a migraine is a nightmare. I've found that an ice pack on the back of the head can help but its temporary.

Hiya hun I was watching a program on television the other day and it was all about migraines and they were experimenting with different types of treatments! It was very interesting as I get them also! Unfortunately I can’t remember when or what channel it was on!! But they had some very interesting treatment like ‘cold water therapy’ and Botox injections!!👍🏻🤪

I used to get migraines like that, particularly where you get the warning at the back of the neck. I found that usually happened after a glass of wine or raw peppers. It's worth noticing what you have just put in your body before that neck pain starts as the migraines could be related to a sensitivity to a food. If you're going to medicate, you have to be very quick or the migraine will just have to play itself out and all you can do is sleep (it may be the only time you can sleep!) I can't recommend myofascial release therapy enough if you can get it.

Sounds like my lot are renting out your head too. I must apologise for rather short messages today, my hands seems to have swapped side and my fingers have become toes.

When I get a migraine which I do often but other times they're awful headaches, I just have to hide in darkness, sip water and not focus on anything!!!

Just can't see to focus on a text or read or type...

It's extremely debilitating if you're trying to get help for yourself???

It's almost as if the intense pain of a migraine causes a sort of blindness. I have to wait about 36 hours to focus again but head pain changes after about 12hrs with a dissolving Maxalt Melt on prescription from my GP well before fibro was diagnosed... I became so sick and nauseous I never knew whether I'd vomited the original migraine drug up and out!!! Wasted so many hours without any medication in my system so GP prescribed these wonderful dissolving pink darlings! Gladly I can never re-experience the utter painful stabbing of a migraine pain when well. It is indescribable...

I wear migraine glasses all the time to prevent any sort of brightness enter my eye but obviously light does enter at the sides so it's very difficult to live without them!

HATE THEM!!!
