I have a severe pain in my lower back and worsen due any simple activity . Which makes it very difficult moving up and down stairs. And also I always lose my balance ,last time I felt down on the stairs.. Today I had an appointment at the hospital and the doctor said that this is The Fibromyalgia which I have to cope with. My flat is on third floor this makes me thinking before go out . I even sometimes apologise from attending social occasions just to avoid stairs . I had applied for council house to move to suitable home for me , after 5 months they refused my application saying there is no medical evidence that I am restricted to climb stairs. Although I had attached supporrting letter from my GP reporting that I have chronic lower back pain and having difficulties with stairs. I still have 15 days to review the decision. Please any advice 🙏 thank you .

Hi it might be worth contacting Occupational Therapy. I too suffer with lower back pain & they said if stairs were too much they could help rehousing me. Luckily I can still go up on my hands/feet, but now have a bed downstairs. Good luck x
