Nortriptiline and gabapentin

Hi, does anyone take nortriptiline and gabapentin at same time, if so, have they had any side effects ?

Hi, I don’t take nortriptilne but as far as gabapentin goes , I started with 1; 2;1 but am now taking 3;2;3 as it didnt appear to be working.

Hello, I am not familiar with nortriptyline. Have take gabapentin and still have an RX if I really need to take it. My RX is for 100mg to take up to 4 times a day. I have taken 4 - 100mg a day and yes the med really did help. Problem I have had with gabapentin is affects my memory in the long run and gives me a TERRIBLE headache on right side of my head above my ear. So I decided, after talking to doctor, not to take unless absolute necessary. This is my personal experience. My husband has MS he does take gabapentin at the most dose recommended. He really needs to take. But I can tell a difference in his memory, but then he has MS. It does help with the nerve pain some what that he experiences in his face. He had TN and still has residual pain left from TN after surgery to relive the TN.

Thanks for you reply, I have been on gabapentin a couple of years, after speaking to doctor he has said to try nortryptilie, i have not sooken to anyone who takes both, was wondering about side effects 😀

Hi i take gabapentin no side effects to speak of just slight dry mouth, but I guess it’s different for each individual

Hi, hope your doing ok! I am on Gabapentin and Nortriptyline. I have been taking them for about 9 months. Just reduced Gabapentin yesterday from 300 mgs to 200 mgs every day, Nortriptyline 10 mgs every 2nd day.My reason for the reduction is I believe their causing me some side effects like Anxiety, cough, congestion and new body pains. Having said that they were quite effective in reducing pain especially electric shock sensations.

I hope to get of these medications, but only time and my body will tell.
