I took duloxetine for one year and haven't taken it for two weeks. Now I have been very nervous for a few days and I cry from everything. Is it due to the lack of duloxetine?has anyone been through this?

Did you just stop taking them, I think you are supposed to go off them gradually ? Have you spoken to your GP

Why do you want to go off them, aren’t they helping you, maybe your GP will try something else ?

I think you should speak to your dr before stopping , especially if they are helping you , sometimes we have to take them even if we don’t want to😊

Please speak with your prescribing doctor about how to change the way the medication is taken "before" you make the change. Each medication is different and by doing so without guidance from medical profesional you are putting yourself at risk of not just withdrawal symptoms but also potentially a severe relapse.

You should never stop taking medication without speaking to your gp first I take duloxatine and I wouldn't stop when you are in pain you need to have chemicals in your body to control it. Please go see your gp x

From some experience and a lot of anecdotal evidence I have read, you should come off Duloxetine under the care of your doctor. You can experience a whole host of effects, anxiety and serious depression amongst other things can occur.Your brain gets used to a certain level of chemicals altered by Duloxetine and when its is reduced or removed these shift back to their former levels accompanied by side effects that have been compared to withdrawal from so called hard drugs.

Tell your doctor what your up to, you may get a ticking off but it will be much safer.

Hiya

Yes most definitely you are not just to start reducing these tablets or come straight off them due to the effects that they will have on you. They have to be tapered off gradually. I am on these too. Please speak to your GP asap and don't reduce anymore.

Kind regards

Yes, it's the withdrawal from the duloxetine. I've been through it and it gets quite bad, I had a constant dizziness and mood swings, crying bouts like you and just felt off. Like others have said, you should taper off gradually with the guidance from your GP, but the final step, going from the lowest dose to zero, is always tough.

For me the really bad symptoms lasted a week, the dizziness 10 days. The second week was better and after three weeks I was back to normal (or "my normal").

None of my symptoms changed before and after, so in my case, the duloxetine really wasn't doing anything for me. It's really tough for a while but it does pass and I am happy now that I stopped taking it if that's any consolation.

Good luck.

You should always wean yourself off them slowly to avoid any side affects and set backs. Go to your GP asap and discuss the issue or have a phone conversation with them. It maybe that you weren't ready or came off them to quickly. I can't imagine ever coming off mine again as I really couldn't cope with what you are going through. Life is too short to be feeling this way, after all if you had a thyroid deficiency you wouldn't stop your medication. Please seek advice and get back to being as happy as you can be.

Good luck and hugs😊😊

Definately need to speak to gp asap. Low seratonin is believed to be linked to fibro. Maybe ask what he thinks of having 5htp suplement to raise seratonin which should help with the emotions.. good luck
