I have again had a call today from pip about the last assessment call I had without an appointment she said that due to my stammer she thinks it would be best to have a paper assessment however she is not sure there is enough information about me to do it even though everyone who I have spoken to at dwp said they have loads of info she said she would write to my GP told her I have not met my new gp only spoken to them once last week and they did seem to have read my medical reports I gave her tge name of my consultants at tge hospital but they only specialise in in there own area so she would need to get my records and speak to tgem all how does a paper eeview work I have never had one and are they reliable

I don't know my new doctor I don't even know her name she was very rude and abrupt when I spoke to her last week and clearly had no read my medical report I had to move to a disabled bungalow and due to new area had to go to new doctors I sent my full medical report and have up dated them via phone on my new consultants and ops I also had my friend who comes in to help care for me once a week to give my partner a break she also sent them a letter I enclosed a copy of the access to work report done via the dwp when I was working in office I now work from home that also state that my conditions will get worse and that they will need to come back to sort out a new chair and desk again in 3 years which would be this year so I'm not sure what else they would need how long do these things take I am a person that would have rather had a face to face as unpopular as they are so they can see my conditions for themselves I quote worried now if this is a good thing or not

They wrote to my Doctor for a factual report They have to pay the doctor 35 pound to fill in these forms . You can see a template copy of these forms on line and the one IAS and Capita use are slightly different. I asked through subject access for the information the DWP PIP held on me so i got to see the copy of factual report my GP filled in.

Your Doctor will only be able to comment on what on your file. If they have not see you then they will not be able to comment on certain parts and leave it blank as they can only state facts on these forms

Well I guess then the will only be telling them the same information that o jave already sent cause I sent my full medical report that I hot fro. The last doctors I was registered with so that will be a waste of there time

Hi Jam, Providing paperwork that you have to live in an adapted property, any social services visits etc will help you. The nature of any adaptations should highlight any functional limitations you have. FUNCTIONALITY is the key word rather than any diagnosis. You can also ask for all your medical records as they are yours. Trawling through those will give you the medical support info you need. Also remember to state if you have a PA/ family/friend to help etc. It is all relevant.

I had a paper based PIP Assessment recently. It made things so much more straightforward. I sent in EVERYTHING just to make sure I was covered. I did edit so that each activity had paperwork to support what I was saying.

Worked for me.

Good luck.

Thank you I have sent them my full medical records I got them off my old doctor I also sent them the assessment from the dwp access to work people who came to my office and git me lots of equipment and the ot report that stated as I cannot have a through floor lift to get me up and down the stairs and that the bathroom could not be altered to allow a shower as I could no longer get in and out of the bath and cannot wash myself they recommended I be moved I then had the disability team at the council come out and do assessment that was sent to them and the disability letting team had to check tge bungalow I was given was suitable wet room hand rails lever taps etc before I could move in ramp level entry to get in and out of property wider doors so I can use my frame safly (I refuse to go in a chair) told them to contact them they will advise of all tge things been done to tge house before I could move in OT won't come back out as tgey have had cuts and also said they will come only if I need more items fitted which I do but she said it won't be this year 18 months waiting list for new assessment I told her that to

Sounds like you should be covered.. They are very unlikely to contact anyone though, so it may be worth your while asking the Council for something in writing. Take care.
