Fibro clinic at St Thomas's

Hi all,

I was referred to St Thomas's fibro clinic last June by my GP when he gave me a diagnosis. I have tried chasing them a number of times, with them at one point telling me they currently had no specialists and had no idea when they would next get one, so the clinic wasn't running. Last week I went to find their webpage to find their number to chase again, and their website has actually disappeared! It seems that there no longer is a fibro clinic at St Thomas's. Has anyone had any dealings with them lately? I'm so desperate to see someone and I have no idea what to do now. Thanks in advance.

Hi, this must be a recent change, as I looked up the information for someone not that long ago.

We need more fibro services, not less - so hopefully this is just a temporary closure of the clinic until they have the staff to run it

Probably closed at present because of Covid.

How odd. Maybe give the main hospital a ring and ask?

I am so sorry you are going through this, I do believe it is due to covid, I cannot get any appointment with my GP, all I get is phone triage, by receptionist, and told to call at 8.30 a.m to try for an appointment, usually mid morning by the time I get through only to be told to call at 8.30 a.m I have now given up on all medical help, no idea when/if normal service will resume. x

My surgery has the same system. I recommend emailing them or writing a note saying you need an appointment. Often they will add you to the list. You can also call 111 and let them know the situation and they can book you in with an out of hours GP. Don’t give up! X
