Hi all

I've not been around for several months now, so here's a quick update.

Since my last visit, I was awarded 'unable to work' benefit or whatever its called by DWP. I also got a PIP allowance.

My question is, is there a cure for fibromyalgia, or am I stuck with it forever?

Thanks

At present there is no “cure” for fibromyalgia. But there are meds you can take to help ease the symptoms and lots of self care measures you can implement. How do you manage your fibro at the moment? x

Just working through it mostly, plus tramadol on occasion.

Oh, that must be tough. There are certainly other meds you could talk to your GP about if you are struggling.

And then self help measures ranging from gentle stretches to mindfulness and using a TENS machine

To add to what LoneEra says, it is also unlikely for a cure to come up in the mid-term future, seeing as research as regards theories and meds is still fishing in murky waters. But they are fishing.
