Looks as if I am going to be given a prescription for this drug. By the looks of it, I don't think I want to take it.

Has anyone taken Lyrica for Fibromyalgia?
Yes, many people on the forum take this - it’s also known as pregabalin. It can be highly effective in reducing pain levels.
All drugs - even paracetamol - have potentially nasty side effects. This doesn’t mean they will happen. Don’t be put off by what you read. Give yourself the chance of some relief.
I've been taking out for years without any problems. Main side effect was weight gain. They do not take my pain away but they make it manageable
It goes by the name pregabalin in the U.K.It didn’t agree with me, made me very drowsy, constantly hungry and affected my depth perception and peripheral vision.
Gabapentin, a similar drug, wasn’t much better.
I have been taking this since diagnosis in 2015. I have not had any issues with it. Like mentioned elsewhere, it doesn't take my pain away, but makes it much more tolerable. I do notice that if I go without it, I have a lot more of the burning skin sensations, feeling like something is crawling in my skin, etc. So it helps that side of things, which I hate worse than the muscle pain.
Hi 1vanldeaI've been on Lyrica for some time I have to take 600mg a day it works well with duloxatien, it takes a while but you find the dose that dulls the pain enough to live. I didn't want to go on it either but it works enough for me to function it doesn't stop the burn of my skin but my pain levels are tolerable.
Hope this helps and good luck anything is worth a try 💜
I was on it for nerve pain, it didn't help my nerve pain and I gained a lot of weight in a short time.
I have taken it for 3 years and it is fantastic in reducing pain and making it manageable. Lyrica is addictive and withdrawal is dreadful so you have to take it as prescribed not as and when. If you come off it ,do it with drs advice and gradually. It does cause you to have appetite but again its up to you to control calories to maintain healthy weight. Best of luck
Hi there nice to meet you 😊 I myself dont take the medication so can't really make a comment on it I'm afraid.
But like most medications the only way you will know if it will work for you is to try it. Everyone reacts different to all medications so one persons reaction maybe not be the same as yours. But if you feel you dont want to take it thats fine too. Just because a GP give us meds or recommends medication does not mean we have to accept them. What ever you decide I wish you luck and hope it helps xx

I’ve taken my first one this morning, hopefully it will help with the constant pain. I’ve tried amytriptalene but made me very depressed. So fingers crossed.
Avoid this and Gabapentin like the plague. Higly addictive and horrendous side effects if you miss a day.
There are loads of us on here on it, myself included. I have no side effects from it at all and it’s helpful for pain.
