Hi Suerach. I can only share my experience - you need to chat with a medical professional for proper meds advice. That said, I am on Gabapentin and Tramadol for my fibro. So, yes, there are other drugs you can try, and a more serious painkiller could be added in to your regime if your GP thinks it’s the right thing to do. Don’t suffer in silence - always be honest with your GP is your current meds aren’t making you comfortable. Wishing you well x
Hiya, I can share my experience but you do need to speak to a doctor/medical professional about med. I am on amitriptyline. codeine, gabapentin and then because of migraines propranalol and sumitriptan. I also take vitamin B12 and vitamin D supplements to help with nutrients my body doesn't absorb (linked to fibro). Hope you get some help. x
Hi and a warm welcome to our community
Medication helps some people, and amitriptyline is often one of the first tried as it can help with sleep, muscle spasms and pain.
Other medications that are used regularly are gabapentin, pregabalin, duloxetine and tramadol
However, medication does not work for everyone and it can be trial and error to find a combination that works for you.
Personally I'm on a combination of pregabalin, mirtazapine, tramadol and paracetamol. But this just helps to take the edge off enough to allow me to function. I also use CBD, exercise/activity, mindfulness, meditation, heat, aromatherapy, massage, reiki, crystals, distraction, weighted blanket and more
Hi I'm very recently diagnosed by my doctor and pretty much left to my own devices. After reading lots on internet would it be fair to say that feeling better with fibromyalgia is very individual and it takes time and patience to find out what works?
Yes, that's about it. We are all affected differently and what works for one person might not work for the other. Xxxx
