Anyone know about Endometriosis/Adenamyosis and Fibromyalgia for best treatments?

Welcome to our mad world, full of people like you who want some help, care, understanding and suggestions. Our wonderful Admin people will send you the official welcome, think the're having afternoon tea at the moment (sorry).
Don't know anything about the first two, but had Fibro for 8yrs now. Thing with our friend Fibro, we all suffer it differently, which is why it should be called a 'syndrome' not illness or desease. Tracey has med rejection problems, Jill can't take tramadol, I take max doses with no side effects. We are all different, and have different complications in the background, so your situation and problems should be right at home here.
For help with Fibro, some more info would be useful. How does it affect you, what limitations does it cause, what meds/doses are you on. Very few on here are medically trained, but we do have years of experiencing all the different problems, and how different meds/treatments can help or hinder.
So back to the beginning, a real big welcome to you. Oh, and you are allowed to reply to posts without waiting, and join in the games we sometimes play.

Hi and welcome Eddieizzie....I think Haysider has said it all for us. We all do receive great support from each other, good information and some fun..As far as endometriosis is concerned I ended up having a hysterical......no I mean hysterectomy!!! But I was mid thirties and had my children so it was a total blessing. As for Fibro treatments what has been recommended for you? What advise have you been given are you on any meds? I am sure we can help you one way or another even if it just to make you giggle at some silly things we do....Hope to hear from you soon....xx

aah, thankyou for soo much informative information, help and support!! I have been given 10mg of amatriptolene..oh! and I cant spell lol 
I haven't started it yet. My understanding is that it will only help me to sleep. But of coarse, then having sleep may reduce some aches and pains. It had been suggested I take Prozac (I am quite open minded to this) but feel perhaps route of first treatment may assist be better. I suppose as you say Hayesider, its a little trial and error. I am awaiting a Laparoscopy in a couple of months for gynecological problems. I'm hoping this may help.. Thanks Trikki for info! I think I may end up having a histerical too!! thanks all for replying as it can be quite lonely and isolating around friends/family who may not quite understand. Am just taking everything all in as having a combination of problems, its had to diagnose etc... Has been quite exhausting the past year with soo many tests etc. xx
Hi, I would steer clear of Prozac, too high a dose boiled my brain giving me a split personality, that's the only drug prescribed at the time this happened. Now, I can't stop my brain working, I can be on here typing, whilst planning next year's cropping on my allotment. This is a powerful drug that is easy to prescribe too high a dose on. Before taking, would discuss again with GP, and start on half what they recommend.

Just read your posts. Hi and welcome to this site. I want to reiterate previous comments that yes the admin folk do a brilliant job: so upbeat and considerate.
Anyway just read about you heading for laparoscopy. It set alarm bells going for me. My reaction to a lap.being done 2 1/2 years ago was first sign of fibro. They warn you it may cause a little shoulder pain after cause your abdomen is pumped with air. My shoulder pain was only just kicking in as i left hosp the same day as the morphine was wearing off. By time home was in such agony couldnt lie down to sleep cause it made me worse. Sat in bed propped by pillows trying to sleep upright. But everytime began to drop and i slouched pain increased manifold and couldnt sleep. Was like that two days. Even two wks later if tried to do shopping or little hsework would comeback bad. Took 6 months to stop bothering me whenevergot tired. Then when pressure points tested for fibro shoulders were worst and could feel it for 2 days after. Even now if i go downhill with fibro its where kicks in quickest.
Sounds like you need lap.though. So can only say make sure they know you have fibro and you have strong pain med for after. If necessary get them to keep you in hosp for a night so near help if needed. Also would suggest you give permission and persuade them to do any further corrective work you are happy with at same time so you dont have to go through it twice.
thanks Karen, your words are very reassuring and appreciate your experience with guiding me to the right treatment possible regarding this op. I will let them know I have fibromyalgia as I didn't think of that! Prob too wrapped up in 'fibro-fog' of late I hope you are feeling better since Laparoscopy? All these issues are new to me.. Have prob take my health for granted until now.
thanks Steve, I was trying to look into whether or not fibromyalgia may subside if my gynecological problems get treated. I suppose its just wait and see! I can see how every bodies story is different..

eddieizzie did you know there is an Endo Uk Forum alongside the fibro? go to "my Communities! at the top of the Fibromyalgia UK forum and a drop down will appear, loads of ladies on there who have all 3 conditions and have some good people on there.

Just to say welcome. Hope the laparoscopy gives you some answers. Fibro is so complex it is sometimes so difficult to know where to start with treatment but as you say if you can get better nights it can be a big help. Look forward to your future posts.x

welcome to the forum. If you go to fmauk.org which is our mother site, you will find lots of interesting and useful information about Fibro there.
Hidden has pointed you in the right direction to go to the dedicated Endo site, where you can also join in with like minded people with Gynae problems.
Since you have quite a few conditions all needing treatment together, I truly hope that you can get the help and treatment you need sorted out ASAP.

thankyou for all this support ... I'm not having a great day as I played badminton last night, and seem to be suffering today. I did a lot of exercise anyway before I have become unwell. Although all my reading tells me to do lots of exercise in what I can manage, I always seem to pay for it. Am not sure if this is normal? But then I understand what's normal to one person isn't normal to another!
