My daughter found this for me years ago. Now i know i have fibro and stress is a massive trigger, i tjought id like to share it:
A professor stood in front of his students and picked up a jar,
He then filled the jar with large pebbles;
Then he asked his students “is it full?”
They all agreed it was.
Then he took some smaller pebbles , poured them into the jar, shook it so that they filled the spaces.
“is it full?”
“yes “ they replied.
Then he took some sand and poured that in filling all the spaces.
“is it full?”
“yes”
Then he took a drink and poured it in until it over flowed. Then he said…
“The jar is your life, the large pebbles are the important things like family friends, health, passions.
The smaller pebbles are other things that matter; like your house, your job, your car.
The sand is all the remaining little stuff like housework, shopping etc.
If you fill your life with sand, there’s no room for the pebbles.
In other words, if you spend your life on the small stuff you will never have time for the things that are really important to you.
Take care of the large pebbles, the things that really matter. The rest is sand”
“what about the drink Sir?”
He smiled and replied
“ah yes the drink: that shows that no matter how full your life may be, there’s always time for a drink with friends"
Now when im stressed my daughter says "sand mother sand"
