Even a fit dog like me has trouble resisting a proper Cornish Pasty. Trouble is Dad can resist me, well sometimes.

He was good at that, too, Ned. I can't count the number of times I told colleagues to lock away their sandwiches. He destroyed lunch boxes more than soft toys. Can't for the life of me think why :P

Our kitchen bin has to be whippet proved. We have had nasty surprises waiting for us all over the living room after a day out. He also can work out which Xmas presents contain chocolates.

The bugger unwrapped one and demolished some very expensive delights this year.

My fault wasn't on the ball.

Wouldn't be without them though would we?

Certainly not . They don't work out which one has the choccy, it's the amazing sense of smell. I have a story about that. . . The only Jack proofing was a bolt on the door higher than he could reach. His friend Jessie (photo coming up in a few days) opened the fridge and made herself very ill eating margarine :P

I had a lab once and the fridge had to be strapped up. As she demolished the left over Sunday roast when she was a puppy.

I had forgotten that. Thanks for reminding me.

They are very clever. I read once that German shepherds had the intelligence of an 8 year old.

I wonder if I remembered that correctly sounds incredible.

All my animals have been thieves.

We came back from an exhausting day at clinic with my son I went to effort of cooking tea. Dished everyone's up turned my back and one nibble little Cairn had leapt on the bench and swiped half my tea.

I am now rambling down memory lane.

Before I bore you with cat stories.

I will hit the shut down button.

Going going gone

I know dogs who are smarter than some adults. But for all that they're wolves and it's amazing how much of their behaviour can be explained by that. Sheep dogs do everything for hunting except the final kill. The skill and intelligence comes in NOT following that last instinct. Hehehe, they know they have only seconds to gulp before they're stopped. You may have noticed who is really wrapped around whose little paw. :P
