Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can advise me. I am currently struggling to continue to work full time even though I have work adjustments and working from home. I am currently in receipt of Pip at standard rate for both living and mobility components. If I have to give up work are there other benefits I could be entitled to?
My partner works part time and I have an adult working son at home. I have worked full time for the last 40 years, and retired from NHS three years ago with a small monthly pension. I took an office job as I could no longer do physical care tasks.
I am diagnosed with Fibro, arthritis and cataracts. I'm on masses of pain relief.
Thanks for any help you can offer xx

Hi Jan1964 - I would talk to your employers, & go down the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) route first. This is worth more than New Style ESA, & is £95.85 per week & payable for 28 weeks. If you're under State Pension age, then you can put in a claim for New Style ESA 3 months before your SSP ends, if you have made enough National Insurance contributions for the past 2+ years.
Your partner's income (& sons) are not taken into account, however, if your NHS private pension is worth more than £85 per week this would affect what you might get.
Don't know if this is an option for you, but have you also considered working part time? Hope this may help.
If you take a look at the Rugby Fibromyalgia Support Group website page on benefits, you will find everything available listed. It is part of FMA UK. (Admin contact op for link)
It is also worth you completing a benefits calculator assessment online which will give you a good idea of what you might get entitledto.co.uk/benefits-c...
