I was on duloxetine a few years back and it is good for fibromyalgia. For me at the start I lost a bit of weight and then I continued with a low appetite which was fine for me as an other drug I had been on made me gain weight previously for a different condition over many years so I was happy to loose a bit of weight and for my appetite to be less. I know a lot of people complain about weight gain so it just depends on the person, just something for you to keep an eye on.

Unfortunately for me eventually my body got too use to it and it stopped working for me but that was probably after about 3 years on the drug so I had to change on to Venlafaxine which is a similar drug and ok too. Good to hear your feeling much better and off some of the nasty drugs that you don’t need. It just show what all these other drugs were doing to your mental health, so glad to hear you got off them.

I was on tramadol for a short time and came off it very quickly because of terrible nightmares and hallucinations.

I am going to get all my drugs re-evaluated by a medication specialist at the hospital in 2 weeks time because I have been on so many drugs for such a long time and feel that most of them are doing nothing for me. Unfortunately my understanding is they start by taking you off all pain medication so I don’t know how I’m going to manage with that as I am in so much pain at the moment.

Good to hear that Duloxetine is working well for you and long may it continue.

Carole

I take 20mgs morning and night and Diclofenic if the pain keeps me awake. I have just had a run of bad nights but thankfully not due to anxiety, just my insomnia. 😀

Hi Lolabaker, so pleased to hear you are finding some relief, whilst not all difficult at least some, how fab is that. I have struggled hugely with amitriptyline and haven't found it beneficial at all, in fact it added more problems on top of the Fibromyalgia issues I had so I have stopped taking it and trying to manage without support. However I have heard such good things about duloxetine and keep thinking i will go back to my GP to discuss the change. Your update has made me think that i will do just that, thank you. Wishing you a peaceful night as well as day x
