Hi, what a terrible few days I've had, non stop pain, migraines, hot flushes, thought I was going to lose my mind. 3 nights in a row now with bad migraines, feels like I'm so alone. The pain in my lower back hips are driving me mad. I've also been itching alot, I've done everything I can think of to try and reduce at least some of these but nothing worked so far. Anyone with any suggestions? I'm willing to give anything a try.

Feel like I'm going mad
Pls drink plenty of water, the hot and cold weather makes our condition worse, hope you have some relief by now 🌻
Thank you for your message, yeah I'm drinking plenty of water and tea. But not really eating a great deal as I just can't stomach it. I certainly think that the weather the past few days have not helped.
Hi
I'm so sorry you are struggling. My Dr gave me Fexofenadine 180mg for itching
My lower back all across
I have spondylitis and degeneration of the facet joint. Have you been referred to a maxillofacial consultant, he / she should be able to help you.

Hi thank you for your reply. I've not been given anything for the itching, I've got to go to have some more blood tests and also do a stool sample, I'm in contact with the pain specialist but that's not going be till September, I'm also cheating with steps to change on Monday as I'm getting so stressed out. I know where people come from when they say doing step by steps. I don't find the doctors very helpful as I'm just going round in circles with them. When I call to speak with the Dr, they say what do you think I can do to help you? I'm shocked, I think we'll your the Dr.
Hi
Yes, just say you are the Dr!! Could you contact the specialist's secretary and explain the situation to her? You could show your Dr this forum and what you've put . Take care and stay safe Lynne
Hi Keldog , sorry to hear that you’re in such pain and feel like you’re going round in circles with your Dr.
Maybe your blood results, and stool sample may throw some light on why you’re feeling so poorly. Also this excessively hot weather isn’t helping either.
I am a member of The Patient Participation Group at our Surgery. The NHS said a few years back that every Practice should set up one of these groups. Anyway, people volunteer to join the group, and the idea is that the members be “the Drs Critical Friend” and listen to what people are saying out in our Communities about the Practice, good & bad, and we all discuss it. at the monthly meeting. The Dr or the Practice Manager gives the group feedback as to what is happening, and going to happen at the Surgery.
At the start of this year, we were told that patients need to get used to Telephone Appointments, as they meant that the Dr could cover more Appointments, and they would always see a Patient if in any doubt. Also for those that could use Technology, they could send a Photo of their Rash or Swelling etc before the appointment so it can be discussed. That is the new way that NHS England wants to happen in all surgeries. Ironically since lockdown happened, that is what is happening, and some Practices are also doing video calls with Skype or Zoom. I think that this is the new way that is going to continue.
We also discussed, that a lot of Patients go online to see what their symptoms are, so, to save time, they will ask the patient “what do you think it might be, or what do you think would help?” and that is the new way that Drs will be using.
We were all taken aback, but funnily enough a lot of people in our Communities thought “ it would cut to the chase” and they could be honest, even the ones who didn’t use the Internet.
So use that to your advantage the next time they ask you “what do you think might help”. What I always say in a pleasant voice. “well you’re the one with the Degree in Medicine, and I respect that, but you’re only human, and can’t possibly keep up with everything, but I was reading, or heard about, or was given before etc,” and tell them what’s on your mind. I can honestly say it can work to your advantage, and it’s also written in your Patient Records.
I’m sorry this post is so long, but I thought I would share this with you, and anyone else that might reading this.
Good luck.
GP. 😊😊
Thank you for your reply, the mess I take are pregablin, citalapram, lansoprazole. These are my three main ones and there's others that I keep getting changed. I feel like I'm a pill popping machine.
Hot weather can do this to us. Both my son and I feel like we've wilted, no energy, and no inclination to do anything other than veg out, usual aches and pains dialled up several notches. Beargh and Urgh.
I should go to Tesco, I can see it from where I sit, but I just cannot be asked.
Cheers, Midori
Sorry you are suffering so badly. I think a lot of us are having a rough time at the moment. I have constant head, neck and shoulder pain and find my hot water bottle, or occasionally an ice pack, are my best friends. I don't get on with medication and it doesn't help anyway.
Benedryl helps with itching, and it may give you a nice nap. Claritin is also helpful. Use lots of lotion, especially those lotions with lidocaine. It helps with pain and itching. Good luck!
