Hi all, just wanted 2 give my own opinion in the use of chronic opiods use for fibromyalgia...Due 2 tolerance or maybe a worsening of my conditions or maybe both i have 2 say that having been on oxycodone for 5 years i have had good pain relief from this drug but less so over last few months.Yesterday i have increased my dose from 10mg to15mg 4 x a day and all i can say is wow big improvement indeed.I hope this extra pain relief lasts for a decent amount of time..I believe that opiods are very useful 4 fibro pain and that what the experts say is for many people complete nonsense in that chronic longterm use of opiods for pain does not work...I hope this makes sense....

Opiods for Fibromyalgia
prolonged use of opiods can result in your body needing higher doses for the same amount of pain relief at higher doses opiods depress our ability to breath this is why some doctors are reluctant to increase dosage . also from anecdotal evidence if you have regular short breaks from taking opiods they may be able to work longer at lower doses .
Hi, glad that you are getting store relief however, research and evidence points to opioids generally not being beneficial for chronic pain including fibromyalgia. However, this does not mean that they do not work for some people
Hiya..yes i appeeciate i must be one of yhe lucky ones becaise the other fibro drugs ie lycra etc do not help at all except gove me huge side effects...I do not suffer any from opiods.....
I have been on CoDydramol since 2000, but I found they work best if I severely limit my intake, so, I take Ibuprofen for everyday pain, and hoard my CoDydramol for when I am desperate.
I have just noticed the date on my box of CoDy, it is out of date, so time to ask the doc for some in date ones!
Cheers, Midori
