I suffer from dry eyes, and while they don't go red they can often be sore and gritty.

Your gp, pharmacist or optician would be best person to advise, as it may be that it can be eased using eye drops or similar xxx

Hi Jackiejack

I had sore eyes when I went to have my eye test they were very thorough and gave me a letter to the eye hospital. I have been diagnosed with corneal dryness and I now have hylo forte eye drops which really helps. I know its difficult with the lock down but your GP could prescribe the eye drops for you and I'm sure they would help you.. good luck

I would ring for some advice, pollen has been high and I’m on eye drops started early this year but in general best to get checked x

This is very common symptom of fibro. My optician recommended hypromllose eye drops ( available at chemists). These can be used safe

Hi I get dry eyes and fells likes something in them I got some eye drops of my doctor which was recommended by my optician and it is such a relief

Book an eye test and mention this to the Optometrist .

Tell the optician that you have worrying symptoms because I think they are only open for urgent / necessary care now. So I'd phone & explain.

You may be given a note for your GP for eye drops if it's Dry Eye.

Or you may be given a note for the Eye Clinic if there is concern that further investigate or treatment is needed. In which case you may have to go via A&E or GP, not sure. Check this out.

Is the RNIB medical helpline open at the moment? This is another option for advice.

I suffer from very dry eyes and opticians told me to put hot water onto clean cloth and hold it against my eyes at night and morning. He also advised me which eye drops to use but they were very expensive so I stopped using them and use the hot cloth more often. I personally use pre boiled water but please take care not to burn yourself if you try this. Even using hot water as a steam bath can really help.

I make my own eye drops using distilled water. Google how to make them, it’s very easy.
