Hi Penelope.

Is it like your eyes are having to work too hard? And are they a bit dry and sticky in the morning? I had /have these problems.(in fact l wrote a post this morning about brightness affecting my eyes)

I went to the opticians in January and found l had extremely dry eye. There are different types. But this can cause headaches and eye pressure. I now use a gel every couple of hours and it has helped. Although l still get a strain if l look at screens or TV too long.

No dry eyes or stickiness but but they do seem a bit more sensitive to light and everything seems a bit duller

I would reiterate what bantam 12 says and definitely go to optician rather than doctors. Just to make sure it's nothing serious.

But it is quite a common in people with fibromyalgia. Because it affects the muscles, it includes eye muscles too...

PS. Don't know your age Penelopee but they also found l have the start of cataracts which could account for the dullness. (I'm 60😒)

Any eye pressure needs checking quickly, my husbands optician treated it as an emergency that needed an immediate appt.

You should make an appointment to see your Optician Penelope ...

You need an optician to look at the back of your eyes, a GP can't do that. My husband is fine now thanks.

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., hello there , yes I agree I would book in with the opticians as soon as you can to get checked, my husbands doctor also booked him onto the eye clinic so don’t rule that out either , he was getting pressure and dry eyes, they found he had glaucoma which for him means daily eye drops, there might be a number of reasons but best to move forward and get checked, I’ve posted a link above if you would like to lock your posts, take care xx

Please see an optician - insisting that my husband saw one immediately saved his sight when the GP didn't seem that concerned. Within 30 minutes of seeing an optician we were in the specialist eye unit. Two surgeries later he is fine. Never delay anything with eyes they are far too precious.

Yes, especially when I've got a headache ( most day)

A good idea to get your eyes checked by an optometrist, they do a wide variety of tests, look at the back of your eyes and test pressures.

Hi there,

I get severe pressure in the back of my eyes, it awful and definitely comes along when other symptoms play up.

Eyes regularly checked, incl at back...nothing.

Medical professionals think it’s possibly muscle fatigue (CFS/Fibromyalgia).

Hi Penelopee. Just read yours now. My left has been twiching and hurting for the past 7 weeks. I feel as someone is using a hammer to hit the eye, all sorts of weird things happen to people with fibromyalgia. So don't worry Penelopee, you aren't alone and my own doesn't just feel sore, I feel as if have got sand in my left eye.

I did see an optician and my eyes scanned and x- rayed., but was told everything was normal. But as suggested by others, please try to go and see an optician
