I am on amitriptyline 80mg for the fibromyalgia and depression.have been on them about 6 weeks now,I do sleep better but the pain is still bad.I also am on 30mg dihydracodein and paracetamolx4 a day and 2 xNaproxin.I have arthritis as well.
Ok tha you for your reply, I hope this starts to work for your pain I have saw many people say it has taken a few months, I just cant take my spine and upper back and joint pain, starting it tonight hoping I soon see some changes. G
I've been on 125mg Amitriptyline for 10 years with 2 gaps for my pregnancies. It doesn't help with the pain at all but helps me sleep, in fact if I forget to take it I don't sleep but I am a very bad insomniac. Wouldn't be with out it.
Although it was originally used as an antidepressant, it works very well at lower doses as a Muscle relaxant, although if you are working, it is best to take it a few hours before you go to bed, or you may still be very drowsy the next morning. (No good if you drive!) I personally don't like it, but that's because my husband used it alongside a bottle of whisky, to suicide with. I prefer Nortriptylline, personally.
Hello, yes I'm sleeping better, my joint pain from coming of sertraline and starting this seems better! However my chest little below my collarbone is tbh just all constantly burning, feel like chest is congested / full not sure just a strange feeling. I feel like when I turn my head left or right my spine pain occurs
Sounds like fibro I het deep stabbing burning shooting pains down spine chest and ribs hopefully the sleeping will make u feel much better I take 100 mg sertraline it really helps xx
Does this spine pain worrey you, my spine hurts alot but the throbbing pain I do worrey about but iv only really had chest x Ray's atm so I guess my mind wouldn't feel at ease when I get that pain.
Are u diagnosed with fibromyalgia yet?it took me a year the doctor will do tests first to rule out other things I used to get stabbing chest pains I still do at times I was a nervous wreck it worried me lots until I got diagnosed then it put my mind at rest I still get anxious because I live in pain every day but your be ok pm me when ever xx
Oh really, If i turn left or right or bend forward my spine pain is terrible, and feels like all muscles and beneath skin of elbow collarbone is constant burning, i do get pins and needles well like a odd sensation in my right leg i feel this I'd say constant. And right knee pain! Can I ask how your fibro started? Did it just come on. My respiritory appointment is the 9th of June so i wont know alot until after that really, doc said she thinks it fibro my 2 chest x Ray's are clear i just dont know what to think tbh, maybe i didnt give sertraline long enough my joint pain scared me however in still having knee pain so i cant really blame the medication, thankyou for your reply! I never felt right mentally I lived off anxiety and I always had lower back pain for 4 years then one night in bed I got theses electric sensations running down my arms I jumped out of bed and called ambulance as I thought I was having s heart attack then the panic attacks started and I couldn't move my neck it gradually progressed over the months and the pain would never go xxx u need to see a Rhumatologist to officially diagnose u it does sound like fibromyalgia the pains in arms was the beginning of a terrible flare up for me ur be ok and feel better when ur diagnosed the not knowing and all the tests are very stressful xx
