Trigger point injections for pain

Good morning everyone.

I predicted this adventure would be a waste of my time and energy...I was right.

I do not recommend getting injections in fibro trigger point locations, it only served to set off my pain further.

I had 14 injections [corticosteroids] in my neck/upper back/shoulder region. I felt like a pin cushion and after the topical pain ointment wore off the only benefit I had was pain at the injection sites.

My next appointment is April 2nd and the goal is a long acting [7 day] pain patch, hopefully that will help ease my pain

UPDATE ON MY MOVE

It may take another year before placement in elderly housing.

as I understand it Trigger point injections are not in the locations where the fibromyalgia tender points are located although there could be some overlap. Trigger points are associated with MPS and tender points with fibro,

When did you get them? Do they take a certain amount of time to work? Sorry to hear that they've caused you more pain xx

Oh that's a let down, so sorry to hear that. That was an awful lot of injections. xx
