Morphine

Do you get used to morphine I'm on 5mg slow release and 5mg quick release if I need it. I'm so tired spend most of day sleeping. I've got cancer I dont know if it's the morphine making me tired x

Hun have a look at the leaflet inside your morhpine and look at side effects, it just might be the cause of your sleepiness,, from memory I think it is meant to do this...Have you been tried with pain patches rather than pills or injections? Are you have radio or chemo? that wipes you out too.

Thank you for your advice. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago and always had bad headaches then I went blind for 20 mins got took in hospital and they found a 5.5cm cancerous brain tumour. I had a brain cranotomy a year ago and they removed it. I had high radiation to brain. They found a 1cm tumour in my lung which was the primary and had radiation on that to. I'm trying to live without pain but it's hard when your tired all the time with the pain relief. I will see if I get used to it if not I will contact McMillan. Thanks Diane x

Yes you have been thru the mill hun..have you got any all clear? Are you suffering body fatigue and do you have fibro?

Sorry to hear you are struggling so much right now. Tiredness /drowsiness could be a side effect of your morphine, but it could also be due to your fibromyalgia, cancer or both xxx

Yes Dianexx the morphine will make you feel sleepy but you are on lowdose..Take care.. x..

I agree , transdermal patch , is great because non of the drowsiness that you would normally get as titrated slowly 10 mcg per hour , but the other that is instant ,you will feel side effects with...does this make sense , Personally *****pain is the worst drain ****, so maybe you did what I have ,tolerated until unbearable , try and knock this pain on head , over next week if poss , then see ......also get all advice ps , right meds for right pain x💜💜💜
