I hve been worrying about the fact that i need 12 hrs sleep a day as well.
I suffer immensely and remain tired if i dont get 12hrs sleep. This means i hve to go to bed early just to enable me to get up at 8/9 am so that i can have time to do the things i want to do during the day.
However, it also means that i hve very little time to enjoy a film on the telly/netflix at nite - otherwise i hve nothing of the next day. Vicious circle for sure!

Loooool I stay in bed 20 hours a day with no sleep....I feel bad ☹️ now. I wish I could do something constructive. Just limited to physio all that and no quality of life really 😤
Hi, how long have you been doing this? Do you take any medications? After my stroke in 2014 I had a few months of needing 12 hours 7-7.....later I treated myself like a toddler and pulled the bedtime back from 7 to 7.15 for a week... Then 7.15 to 7.30pm for a week and so on until 9pm. Still need 8-10 hours sleep and only up later if I'm out. Sleep hygiene suggests we shouldn't do tv/Netflix /mobile phone within an hour or so of bedtime.
I wouldn’t worry about needing that much sleep. Being in chronic pain is very exhausting on your body and also fatigue is a main symptom of fibromyalgia so you do what you need to do 😊
I need a lot of sleep too, though it is badly broken. Needing lots of sleep goes hand in hand with fibro pain. Have you heard of Dr Jacob Teitelbaum American Fibro specialist? It sounds like you might have Fibro’s twin condition chronic fatigue syndrome. Google Dr Teitelbaum to see if it’s you and if you think it might be he has lots of relevant advice. Maybe what he has to say might be if use to you. Occupational Therapists also specialise in fatigue, have you tried this?
Good luck

Hi
I'm the other extreme, I have one hour of less sleep per night due to pain, I'm exhausted all of the the time. Thinking of you. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
