Hi does anyone else take this for Fibro. If so what dose ? š
Duloxetine : Hi does anyone else take... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Duloxetine

60mg per day, it takes about a week or so to kick in, but then it seems to work.
My GP started me on a dose of 30mg for 2 weeks, then raised it to the 60mg dose I'm on now. I take this in one tab at bedtime. The local friend who recommended Duloxetine to me takes hers in 2 doses of 30mg, one at night, the other with breakfast.
We both had really bad side effects weaning ourselves onto this med, but I feel much better on it. In fact, since starting on Duloxetine, I've been able to give up the pre-gablin, codeine and anti-inflammatory meds I'd been on for several years.
I have heard that some people manage to take it with no side effects right from the start. The only side effects I get now, is some general nausea, but this only happens it I do too much and make myself over-tired.
I hope you fall within the many people who have no bad experience with Duloxetine and that you get the benefits I get from taking it.
Good luck, dx
Thanks to everyone that replied. Yes Iāve been on the 60mgs for about 3 months now. No side effects. I seem to be lucky that way. The only side effect I get from tablets is drowsiness. The pain clinic have now asked that doctors increase this to 90 mg for one week then to 120 mg daily after that. I shall let you know how I feel after Iāve tried this increased dose. Will probably be after Xmas now š
Hmmm I was told from my pain consultant that anything over 90 mg that it probably wonāt work. I indeed went up to 90 mg for a few months but the side effects were dreadful so I went down to 60 once a day then down to 30 mg and now 20 mg and still trying to rid myself of it. X
Hi Iām on 120mg a day I found it made me lose weight and I find it helps but Iām using more pain killers but been fine on 120 start off sleepy till I was used to them now fine good luck š
Hi yes I was on it and it did help Iām the beginning. I was on 60 mg a day.
But the side effects were awful and I decided I couldnāt hack it anymore so Iāve been trying to come off it and am now down to 20mg a day.
If youāve tried absolutely everything and thatās including natural anti-inflammatorys and trying taking things out of your diet like gluten dairy and sugar then try it but I wish Iād done more research on It as itās got just brutal side effects and getting into it can be hard to.
Since I started on 4000ui Vit D and Magnesium and Vit C and a general muli vitamin my fibros calmed right down. I also kicked gluten, wheat and dairy and that also had a profound effect in that if I fall off the wagon i really suffer and flare!
In the new year Iām starting a plant based diet Iāve found it helps too. Itās a difficult one but Iād make sure to explore every option before taking the plunge. Iām really struggling with the last 20mg as they donāt do any lower than 20 mg and so Iām stuck until I see my consultant from the pain clinic!
I wish Iād never gone on it. And if I can help just one person and give advice too Iām happy! Xx

Hi what were your side effects on taking the larger dose ? x
Sweating profusely and it didnāt matter what I did and weight gain! I spent all winter with just a t shirt on. I was also very up and down with food and sickness. But the sweating was a big problem for me. X
What side effects did you get on the increased dose ? Iāve had none so far.
I few years back I stopped taking fluoxetine without reducing it gradually. I felt really ill for about 3 weeks. I had no idea at the time you couldnāt do this.
Thanks for everyoneās help š
Hi everyone!
Just yesterday I got prescription from my Psychiatrist for this, I haven't taken it yet. I wonder if I'll have a problem cos I'm taking pregabalin as well. Anyone who's taking both?
Thanks!
My rhumatolgist put me on them beging of nov 30mg dont think there even working about week ago had bad fibro burning in my arm and hand it feelt so weak and shaky today im havin bad attack in my leggins burning so much and in soo much pain
It works well for me. I started on 30mg, to get body used to it and to make sure no awful side effects. Once used to it, dose increased to 60mg and I take 90mg during flare-ups for a few days only.
I went up to 90mg and found it gave me restless legs. Insomnia and sweating. I have gradually reduced the dose and have now decided to come off it because these side effects have not gone away and now feel very anxious and panicked. So in this case more is not always better.
