I need some help!!!!
Hi
I'm so sorry you are struggling so much. Has your Dr put you on anything to help your mental health or have you been referred for therapy?
I get 1 hour or less sleep per night, this has been going in a long time and it's horrendous when you don't sleep isn't it? Pm me if you want to.
Please take care of yourself Lynne
Hi, I’m so sorry to hear your struggling, i know the feeling, I was diagnosed with fibro 7years ago, I also have osteoarthritis, I think to start with it’s a shock when you are told you have fibro but also a relief that at last somebody actually believes you, but your still bound to be upset which won’t help you mentally, But given time you will learn how to manage, remember every day will be different some bad some not so bad, pace yourself, my first mistake was on a not so bad day I would do all my housework and then be bed ridden for 2days, much better to do a bit each day, I am also very sensitive to temperature change keeping my bedroom warm is the key to helping me sleep, no mobile for at least an hour before sleep, it might not work for you but I really do think a nice ambience helps and some calming music also and pain meds, I always say “ we have to grieve for the loss of the person we used to be” but you will learn ways to help you I promise, always here for you if you need a friend, take care.x
Hi I’m on Citalopram 20mg in the mornings. It has definitely helped my mental health and ability to cope with Fibromyalgia so I would ask to try something like that.
I also take Nortriptyline at night which helps with nerve pain and sleep issues. I don’t know what I’d do without these 2 drugs.
For extra pain relief I think it’s a case of finding what works for you. I take Naproxen and top up with Tramadol on bad days.
Take care and good luck x
The sleep problems can improve with work, but needs to be stuck at.
Go to bed at the same time each night.
Have the same routine—- no screens for last hour before bed, warm drink, lock up house, clean teeth etc....
Make sure your bedroom is comfortable for you. I like a warm bed but have to have a cool, almost chilly room. You might need a warmer room.
Try something to calm your mind. If you're open to hypnotherapy try Michael Sealey on YouTube ( there are others, just search hypnosis for sleep)
If I change anything—- stay up later to watch a particular programme fir example, then I’m wide awake and cannot get to sleep. It’s worth persisting to get it right for you. It’s known as “sleep hygiene” , lots of info online.
I suggest you go back to the doctors and tell them everything you are struggling with. They may suggest an anti depressant medicine and sleeping tablets ( short term). Be firm and don’t go away without getting help. Good luck and best wishes
I was on 10mg of amitryptylin and 300mg of venaflaxin they've taken me off the amitryptylin and I'm now on 50mg of sirtraline, I feel like I'm going mad!!! Due to this, pain has just gone mad!! My poor husband is getting it and he's struggling now having to manage me, the kids and and work. Thankyou so much for all your kind words.
I've been on it for almost two weeks, but due to coming off the venaflaxin my tongue is going numb everytime I move my head, I spin out and I've got the shakes, honestly I feel like someone of trainspotting 🙄
Oh OK, that makes sense
Hi I take 300mg of pregabalin for pain twice a day and 120mg of duloxetine for my mental health once a day. They work really well together was rheumatologist who recommended the combination. Peace and love ✌💕
