Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis for a set of symptoms. A particular set of set of symptoms like aching eyes can be be for a variety of reasons. You need to see eye specialists.

Dry eye, Sweat contaminants in eye, glaucoma are just a few things that can cause aching eyes.

Yes I get terrible achey eyes. Had the Opticion come to the house. Had some new glasses, but still have the same problem. My G.P gave me some eye drops to use. She said that they were like false tears. They help a little, but my eyes still ache a lot.

The lovely Doctor that gave me these eye drops have since left the Practice. If I went there now, they would probably give me just plain water. Thats how bad our Doctors Practice have gone. down.

Buthave your eyes tested by an Optician or go to your G.P. .

Your Eyes are so precious you must look after them.

Take Care. Gjkas.

If it has only developed since fibro it could be one of the symptoms as many of us have problems with vision and dry eye but I do think it is best to have your eyes checked as we can so easily put down any new symptoms to fibro. Hope you get it sorted out.x

Think a trip to the opticians is probably in order. I have several different pairs of specs, purely because my eyesight changes regularly. The last visit to the opticians was well before the two years free eye test criteria. However because I needed yet another prescription change the optician did the test for free. Sometimes I need to go down a strength and others up. I can't drive in the dark either anymore. I decide each morning which strength ones I will need for work!

Hi yes I too have aching eyes and I too have fibromyalgia. Do you have any other eye symptoms like dry gritty or watery eyes. I would definitely keep a symptom diary. I have now started with numerous eye symptoms and am being investigated for lupus and I also suspect Sjögrens and scleroderma. Look up all 3 and when you next go to see a specialist I would get a print out of all symptoms tick off every one you have and hand it into them. Ask them could any of the 3 be causing problems or is it the fibromyalgia. Have a great day. J😀

I have dry eyes and also get red itchy dry eyelids ... I have hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia and been on Levothryroxine since July and still have same symptoms

Awful 😟

How awful for you I understand as my eyes are either dry itchy sore or weepy or sometimes all of that on top of aching eyes. It sounds as if inflammation is causing them to flare up. It’s hard as you have thyroid issues and fibromyalgia. I find a lot of drs just put all symptoms onto the fibromyalgia but there could be something else going on. Do you get headaches blurred vision, sensitivity to light or any other head or eye symptoms. I am currently trying natural herbal remedies in a last bid to get well. You definitely need to get a dr to have a look at them. I am hyper vigilant as my optician told me he sees lots of people who have illnesses and they don’t even know that they have them and they pretty much go undiagnosed. He was the guy who had more medical knowledge than any dr I have ever seen. He said his whole family had various illness so he was pretty much an expert. I will always remember his advice about diaries, keeping an eye on symptoms and always be on the look out for better care and specialist. Hope the drs can try and figure out what’s going on with your eyes and wether or not it’s the fibromyalgia or another cause. Enjoy your day. J 😀

Thank you ... my eyes can get blurry too... had new glasses and eye checks and was given eye drops and told to have regular checks ... have s nice day 👍

Thanks for letting me know. If you haven’t had any up to date blood tests I would ask the dr to run all blood tests again checking for diabetes and vitamin B levels. I am very thorough when I go to the drs 😂 as you can tell. 😂. J

I really hope you get your answers. Don’t give up and if drs or specialists are not supportive smile sweetly and onto another dr or specialist. There is someone out there that can explain what’s making you unwell. We just have to find them. 😂. Wishing you the very best in your search to get to the truth. J😂

For what it's worth , I've concluded that they ache the same as the rest of our body ..... Resting them helps , hot cloth etc

Thank you Jeromicus888 and yes I do have other eye symptoms, which are Vertigo for 5 years and hay fever for quite some time, which seems to be caused by tree and tree blossom pollen. Fabulous idea about the diary!

Yes I get aching eyes. All checked out in case it was something else but no, apparently down to fibro. I find a warm wheat bag over my eyes helps.
